// ooooh, this is a fun one. Dot didn't really experience any negative dates while I've been writing her, so I have to dig into pre-game headcanons. I'm a subscriber to the headcanon that Alphys and Sans actually knew each other pretty well. I can see them having awkwardly tried to have a date once -- before mutually deciding that the spark isn't there and remaining friends.

It probably wasn't even a terrible date. All the bad would have been a result of the added pressure from calling it a date instead of a hangout, and perhaps from both of them being inexperienced in dating. It was likely something very casual, but that wouldn't have been a negative for Dot and may have even been her suggestion.
