I love sci fi so much but I feel like you must have to research a ridiculous amount of science to write good science fiction.

I’ve been reading Project Hail Mary and googling things along the way to clear up confusions and mid search I was hit with a thought. Jeez, if I have to search this often (which isn’t that often to be clear) just imagine how much searching and studying the writer had to do.

It certainly added to my appreciation of sci fi and its readers

I’m watching this streamer that i stumbled upon on Pinterest and the relationship this young man has with his people is so parasocial it’s difficult not to be concerned. I’m watching the stream right now and he’s actively following every fan girl that puts their username in his comments. In their discord bios girls have tallies of every time their favorite streamer noticed them. I maybe a little negative because of my past experiences of fandom but I am worried a little for both of them.
