Hey like, as a human with chimerism who is intersex, i wanna challenge you to re-examine your inspiration for the gynandromorph butterfly art piece. Because its an intersex organism. Im also trans so I get the desire to want to be seen by nature but like that is a real thing that really affects people and it isnt the same as being trans.
hi, thank you for sharing this with me. I had read that gynandromorphism was distinct from being intersex, but I really should have considered how heavily related they are and better considered how an intersex audience may approach and feel off put by the piece and especially my wording. my original studies and intentions with the drawing was to consider the artificiality of perceived binaries of sex and gender and was not exclusively meant to represent transness, but as it developed I projected my experiences with being nonbinary on to it, and as those things absolutely do not equate, it was pretty stupid to so. I wasn't going into it using as much tact as I should have, obviously being intersex is not equivalent to being trans. I apologize for the ignorance in my post and will absolutely take the piece down. I also want to add a screenshot for context and accountability and to allow for further insight as I want to make sure to avoid anything like this for the future and make sure to avoid harmful representations. I should have taken a lot more consideration, and always appreciate people setting me straight!
