I thought about this when I heard her speech and her commenting on the live earlier kinda solidified it for me. Even if I thought I was clowning too close to the sun.
But if there’s one thing I learned the past year, is that at the end of the day, Taylor is just a girl (THE girl, but still a girl), who, like most of us, crave for a life with the person we’re in a relationship with. And that’s ok. That does not make her any less of the superstar that she is. That does not take away her brilliance. That just makes her human.
She gave nearly two years of her life to the tour— sick, heartbroken, she showed up. The least people could do is support her and celebrate her and this very very successful tour and be happy that in one way or another, we became a part of history. Be it from a grainy live stream, in the nosebleeds, in the GAs, or in the best seats in the stadium. And cheer her on as she moves on to a new chapter. 🩵🥹

the thing about taylor swift is that she could release several albums in a row talking about "i hate myself, i'm suicidal, i date bad men because a couple of relationships in my late teens really fucked me up, my self-worth is entirely based on how much people clap for me, i feel trapped inside a gilded cage entirely of my own making and it is driving me to the point of substance abuse and extreme depression, my fans are obnoxious and try to control my life, and despite putting off having kids for the sake of my career, i am now afraid i will never have a family," and people on the internet who've still only ever heard shake it off and love story would still be saying "she writes shallow music, she never takes risks, she never writes the truth, it’s always this insipid drivel about boys and being the victim" (and the reason i know this is because that's exactly what she did and how people still talk about it)
oh and don't forget "i still deal with the trauma of having been targeted and bullied in an extremely public, and in one case sexually violent, way by the world's most famous neo-nazi and his vapid, evil ex-wife"
the manuscript ending the album on the utter jawdrop moment that neither of the muses of the actual album were the first men to fuck her up with promises of marriage and babies, and that first heartbreak so long ago laid the scene for the woman she would become and the ways she would approach love and how we all watched her life like scenes in a show but she kept coming back to the manuscript of the first torrid affair that ruined her, to bookend an album about two love affairs that destroyed her utterly in almost the exact same way, because all her muses are acquired like bruises........ it's bone-chilling
