It is really too bad I can't make it back here. The rains took out Highway 1 , which means Big Sur is empty right now. Laguna 69, sitting at about 15k feet I landed in Huaraz, Peru (coming from sea level) and immediately went on this epic adventure. Today is a sad day. I love this earth and have seen some of the most amazing places being irreversibly destroyed by climate change. What I don't think people truly understand is that your politics, your job, and the issues that you care about don't matter if we are all dead. My generation might just miss the chaos but I can promise you that your children will suffer to survive. That's how big a deal the Paris climate change accord was for us to move in the right direction and we just failed. There will not be a way to turn back after we go off the cliff. Make sure your voices continue to be heard because maybe, just maybe, we can avoid total disaster.
