“Ooh, I’ve actually already gone on that one,” Illyana said, truthful and already regretting that she had tried. “It’s not fair to distract you from just how fun this one is by having me there. Right?” Mostly she did not want to sit next to a potentially weak stomach.

Come.” He beckoned again, leaving space ahead of him for her. “My enjoyment will not be found here, I can guarantee it. Your lack of presence would be more ruinous than the alternative.”

“You speak the way you do because you are dumb.” Emma responded before looking at him as if he pointed at something disgusting out to her. She looked at the ride of screaming teens before looking away with a bitter expression. “I don’t do rides. I mean, how rural is this carnival? Absolutely droll. I want luxury and champagne and  get soda and face painting.

“A spectacular argument,” he said with a wane smile, as though conceding her adorable point. “Beware asking for champagne, they may find a way to deep fry it as they did the entirety of their menu.” The amount of food preceded by the word “fried” that was promoted in colorful letters on the food huts was something he had not yet seen in Midgard. While some sounded disgusting and a perversion of cuisine others had long lines that had caused him to convince a couple patrons to give him their freshly-purchased and long-awaited dinners.

“Yes, exactly. Do the uncomfortable thing. You’re doing a great job already,” Illyana said encouragingly, taking a step backwards to ensure that she did not look like she was getting in line for that mess. “If you die after this, I want some of your stuff.”

Loki lifted a brow at her refusal to get in with him. “I would say the same, but well...” He let it dangle. He had plenty of her things already if her instance on the shoes was to be believed. “Come along, won’t you?”

“Have you actually gotten on the thing? Half the fun is feeling out of control but knowing that there’s a good chance that you’re actually safe. The other half is watching people make bad decisions. You look like you could use a bad decision.”

“Out of control and safe are both things that sound dreadful, although I do like to see the results of bad decisions.” He considered if he was in need of a bad decision. “Odin’s beard,” he mumbled and stepped into line to get on the next turn.

“Says the Shakespear wanna be.” Emma retorted, priding herself on her physical attributes. “Hardly, I’m bored though and eating corn dogs and going on stupid rides that will mess up my hair is hardly my idea of fun. However, if I am going to make it in this Academy, I suppose it is only makes sense to at least appear involved.”

“The irony of that statement is abundant since you only hear me speak this way because if it expected. Your own mind’s trick annoying you.” The Allspeak made him heard universally, but by just speaking formally this speech pattern was the translation given to Midgardians. If he consciously tried to dumb-down his speech he would sound modern, but that was a waste of vernacular. “And how is the ruse going? Have you screamed with joy while cartwheeling through the air?” He motioned at an aforementioned screamed spinning in a tilt-a-whirl and rolled his eyes. How would they react to ride the Bifrost?

Loki: Excellent. There was a myriad of films at the front would you like to choose one? I have found a very cozy armchair to relocate to the study room if you do not mind sitting close together and we could enjoy a movie.

“I’m sure you aren’t. And ah yes, the flashy deco is supposed to fit the carnival aesthetic, that’s more or less a matter of taste.” Erik had actually never been on rides at carnivals or amusement parks like these, but surely it can’t be too bad. Even if he ended up somehow not able to stomach it, he technically could freeze the whole ride as his out of the jail free card. “Sure, why not. Got nothing to lose. I’ll get you a ticket.”

Loki did not answer thereby not giving his consent, but did walk beside Erik to the ticket booth. How mundane to be forced to purchase tickets instead of just purchasing admission at the ride itself. A confusing business model unless the operators really were that untrustworthy which did nothing to help the reputation of the contraptions. “Someone should inform the ‘carnival aesthetic’ should be reconsidered.” It was loud and smelled greasy with far too much flash and roar. Pure cacophony.

I have spied five varieties of this same swirling contraption with the primary different being the colors." Honestly, there had to be some more creativity in the Midgardian's mind. He considered Erik. "Do you plan to partake?"

"Another hilarious attempt at insult from the girl who dressed like one of those cenfections when first we met." He motioned at someone passing with pink cotton candy. In his black slacks and button up he was overdressed, but he was not going to dress down for someone else's comfort. "Come to remind all that fun is for lessers?" Hey was surprised to see her here. It was possible even less her scene than his.

Illyana was not sure what the creep was playing at, but she had more than enough on him if he was a teacher to get him away. “Well your posture reinforces how much of a full-of-himself tool you are, so you’re not helping your case.” She held an arm up over her chest experimentally, but then decided that excessive modesty was futile. Scowling, she crossed her arms. It just sounded that much more disgusting when someone like him threw backhanded compliments after blatantly staring at her breasts. So what if she hadn’t bought a new bra in… she didn’t really remember how long? “It’s my curse, then. Because you are so absolutely infuriating, I’ll be forced to be attractive forever. Thank you so much, Casanova. Where ever did you learn to judge girls’ chests by gawking at their breasts?”

“You speak as though having confidence and knowing how one stands among the lessers is a flaw.” He never understood it. When Thor was arrogant it was charming, but when he did the same it was wrong. A ridiculous double standard. 

Loki had spent little time looking at her breasts, it was rude and a cursory view of her had told him all he needed to know. He smiled slyly and looked away as though he needed strength to answer her question. “Trust that I am as well versed in the female form as I am the male.” Being both and being intimate with both gave him a special connection to any gender he might encounter. “And yours would be fine if you just gave it some thought. Perhaps then you would even be able to keep your possessions.”
