some kind of art collage?
hiiiiii, a while ago I draw Enki and Nosramus and cars and my telegram followers asked me to draw them as furry (actually I was joking about it and then they asked) soooo
cars enkiramus
I like Enkiramus being a little codependent...
Hear me out, they both have asocial tendencies (or even antisocial in Enki's case since he can be violent). But they're still both human, so the little social interaction they need can be satisfied by the other. Making them each other's only source of emotional support. They would give each other the space they needed and comfortably shared silence...
Nosramus is more polite than Enki and has just a tiny bit more social battery than the dark priest. Even though the alchemist might seem like the most outgoing of the two, I think he's still introverted and gets easily overwhelmed by conversation. This is one of the many reasons he lived by themself in the mines, so they can do research in relative peace. Nosramus especially doesn't like talking about himself, after you ask a few questions they say "I don't have anything to say to you" or he straight up leaves before you can ask more. Not to mention the "humans should blame themselves" line, which reveals Nosramus' misanthropy, a trait he shares with Enki!
The dark priest doesn't like to talk either. Many of us locked ourselves out of recruiting him on our first Funger runs bc we interacted with him way too many times. And if you do recruit him and check the party talks, you may notice he refuses to chat with the player. Enki sees all interaction and human relationships as purely transactional, he makes it very clear during his low mind dialogue. I think Enki would respect the alchemist a lot, but at the same time he would resent his own need for Nosramus' company, hoping that someday he will outgrow it (he won't, for it grows everyday).
Enki is used to rejection. Realistically, he knows no one else would want him, no one else would understand him, no one else would love him forever like Nosramus. He has no interest in replacing or getting rid of him. Which must unusual and frankly, a little scary for Enki! The first and last time he had a deep bond with someone it was with his sister, a relationship that was ultimately doomed from the beginning. I can see him having abandonment issues as a consequence. Presumably, in his adult life he was incapable of forming any meaningful friendship too. He's not even accepted within the dark priest community. Finding someone after spending his whole life alone and unloved must have been a bizarre experience for Enki. He wouldn't help becoming attached to Nosramus, they're very compatible, they're his person, Nosramus is the one for him. All of this mixed with their misanthropic nature I mentioned earlier would result in a "Fuck everyone else but us" attitude, enabling their self isolating behavior. This lack of outside interaction would feed their codependency.
For Nosramus and Enki, I see it as a classic case of "fell first, fell harder" situation. Nosramus saw potential in him early on, finding Enki very interesting. Enki would have a harder time identifying his feelings, he'd appreciate his guidance and respect their passion for knowledge, his deep admiration for Nosramus forming into something more after succumbing to Nosramus' shuttle flirting.
People usually depict Nosramus as the clingier one of the couple. I don't dislike this interpretation, though I think it's putting them in sort of Squidward/SpongeBob dynamic, haha. The way I see it, neither of them would fit the definition of "clingy", they're both pretty avoidant. However, Enki is the most emotional and impulsive one, so I think he'd be the one who is more demanding of attention. While at the same time, being too prideful to admit he wants, or even that he enjoys Nos' attention.
The alchemist is much more mature and has more temperance. "Temperance" that edges on apathy, I think they can hide their true feelings behind jokes sometimes. He's quite whimsical so perhaps he'd enjoy teasing their partner sometimes but I can't see them being insistent or interrupting Enki's work without reason. Matter of fact, I think that'd be a deal breaker for Enki. Nosramus would have abandonment issues of his own after being left behind by the Fellowship. (Technically he was the one leaving but my interpretation is that they never made him feel included to begin with). I also think Nosramus had given up on finding love after what happened to the Old Knight. Until Enki showed up.
Ultimately, they both find solace in knowing they have someone to spend eternity with.
