What do you think Daan's life was like before his parents disappeared?

A nightmare.

First of all, I think he looks the most like his dad and that's the only way his mama knew Daan was his.

From what we know from his introduction, his parents had a nomadic lifestyle, going from place to place to attend Sylvian orgies. He never had friends his age, an education besides Sylvian's teachings or a place to call home. He definitely never went to a doctor before.

I like the headcanon that his parents had him young and that's partly why they were so irresponsible and negligent. Other than being brainwashed by a cult. They probably almost left him behind on several occasions because they were so out of it. They also never kept track of the most basic stuff about him like his favorite food or his date of birth. Speaking of food, he was probably breastfed for way too much time only because his mom enjoyed it.

It's safe to assume his parents had sex in front of him, with each other and with random people that were probably not the safest to have around a child. Just a complete lack of boundaries or healthy family dynamics. Daan would struggle with hypersexuality early in life and this behavior would be encouraged by his family. He sometimes would get taken care of by other members of the cult but Daan would shy away from them.

I also think he started seeing Pocketcat as a child but his parents thought he was just an imaginary friend and paid no mind to it. On the same page, Pocketcat was probably "sweeter" with him back then, the way groomers usually are.

Because of his exposure to Sylvian magic, I think Daan's hormones were messed up and he had an early puberty. That's the moment where his parents started pressuring him into joining the orgies.

I like the idea of Nosramus being strict with Enki... Not acknowledging the dark priest speaking to him unless it's with respect. Calmly telling Enki to get out of his sight when she says something rude. Nosramus would be a patient person but he is also too grown for Enki's bullshit. And Enki, well, I think she needs to be put in her place haha

If Daan got Karin pregnant I think it would genuinely RUIN both of their lives. Neither of them would be happy about it.

One, because it would get in the way of Karin's career. And two, because the Pocketcat would definitely use it against Daan in the most cruel and awful ways.

I considered writing a short fic about it but I don't know if I want to make them suffer like that, it feels exploitative. 🥀
