What defines art?
art is when you think about something even a millisecond longer than you are required to
Show 'Em
You tell me To “show ‘em what I’m made of” Time will answer If I do not So I’ll show you What I’m made of: Salt water and oxygen. You tell me To “show 'em what I’m made of” But you want to see me composed Not my composition. You want steel Or ice Or not so nice You do not want me to show 'em What I’m made of. I am not steel Or ice Or not so nice I am aches and brains. I am not wood Or good I am time and time again Salt water and oxygen. If I cut in Cut skin You’d see Scattered picked nails like flowers You’d see Ripped hair Stripped bare You’d see What I’m made of But it is mine to show. I need not bleed for Rip for Strip for you. Pick for Tick tock tick for you. I could be steel For you Ice For you Not so nice For you But here it is– Salt water and oxygen This is what I’m made of.
- Sofía Campoamor
I am angry that I starved my brain and that I sat shivering in my bed at night instead of dancing or reading poetry or eating ice cream or kissing a boy.

in ancient rome one of the careers you could have was professional mourner, and your job was just to go to funerals and wail as loudly as you could, and honestly we should bring that back because that’s the sort of career i could see myself doing in the future

“100 Days of Overthinking” by María Sanoja
I was overthinking, as usual, when I bumped into this blackboard outside a café that I pass by every day. I realized that I’m often so absorbed in my own thoughts that I miss the simple, beautiful things that surround me. My overthinking often keeps me from being present. For 100 days, I will make an effort to be here and now. I will get out of my own head to see what I have been missing. Each day, I will draw something that I notice around me, and I will pair it with whatever it is that I’m overthinking, in an attempt to be more aware and learn to let go.
