the   moon   goddess   who   bore   the   pact   of   heaven   and   earth.   her   gaze   long   locked   from   the   world   and   silenced   it's   heed.   keep   your   head   bowed   when   speaking   for   gazing   too   long   causes   the   truths   not   meant   for   man   are   unfurled.

AU- OVERVIEW

This     version     of     Columbina     leans     heavily     into     the     unsettling     religious-horror     interpretation     imagined     before     her     official     release:     less     "mysterious     harbinger"     and     more     "something     holy     that     should     never     have     been     seen     by     mortal     eyes."     She     is     not     evil     in     the     conventional     sense.     She     simply     exists     according     to     laws     that     humanity     cannot     comprehend.

Columbina     is     the     last     surviving     member     of     her     people,     or     perhaps     the     only     one     who     was     ever     real.     No     one     knows.     No     records     agree.     No     memories     remain     consistent     after     seeing     her.

Columbina     never     lies,     but     her     truths     are     terrifying.

She     treats     miracles     and     atrocities     with     identical     emotional     weight. She     often     knows     things     she     should     not     know. She     sometimes     pauses     mid-conversation     as     though     listening     to     voices     nobody     else     can     hear. She     speaks     about     catastrophic     events     with     the     same     tone     one     might     use     to     discuss     weather. She     can     perfectly     imitate     compassion     without     actually     experiencing     it.

The     most     disturbing     aspect     of     her     character     is     that     she     is     not     pretending     to     be     human.     She     is     trying.     And     after     centuries     of     observation,     she     still     cannot     understand     why     mortals     fear     the     dark,     mourn     the     dead,     or     cling     so     desperately     to     one     another.

Yet     sometimes,     when     nobody     is     watching,     she     sits     alone     and     sings     to     herself.     The     song     sounds     impossibly     old.     And     for     a     brief     moment,     something     resembling     loneliness     appears     on     her     face.     Not     human     loneliness.     Something     far     older.     The     loneliness     of     a     divine     being     who     remembers     Heaven,     but     can     no     longer     find     the     path     home.
