Preview of my pieces for the Bread & Roses art show! My showcase highlights waves of strength, empowerment, and love fighting the tides of racism, misogyny, and hate. Opening reception is this Thursday 7-11pm at The Fridge Gallery in Capitol Hill. Hope to see you there! 🥖💐 -- Marking one year since the first Women’s March on Washington, Bread and Roses is a four-day event on Capitol Hill featuring art, workshops, and performances about the power of the communal fight for women’s rights. Rose Shneiderman—women’s suffrage and labor activist—coined the phrase “Bread and Roses” in 1911, claiming that women deserve bread (equal pay and fair working conditions) but they must have roses too (the right to beauty and a better life). The show reflects on the progress we have made and what we have left to accomplish. Fridge DC is open 12pm-6pm and the show runs through Sunday, Feb 25. (at The Fridge)
