I think I could live here😌
Here's a great picture when we biked across the Mississippi into Missouri!
Here's a great view we had yesterday as we biked into the valley area of Kentucky. #HopeForAddie #CoastToCoastRide
I see her reflection in the beauty that surrounds me.
If you ever get the chance to bike or hike up Blue Ridge in Virginia, do it! You will not regret it!
Just a beautiful shot of the country side of Virginia! We rode 70 plus miles today and fought against a rough headwind and baby mountains!
Talk about a beautiful ride! This was along Colonial Drive in Virginia by Jamestown. We biked about 70 miles today!
On the road less than 24 hours and we’re already busted…
IT HAS STARTED!! We started off with dipping our bike tire in the Atlantic Ocean in Yorktown, Virginia. This is the start to a journey across America to raise money for Addie! You can follow the journey along the way! If y’all could help in ANY way, it would be very much appreciated! Here are some ways you can help: -Like the page “Hope for Addie” on Facebook -Follow the Hope for Addie tumblr (hopeforaddie.tumblr.com) -Follow John’s tumblr blog (triple-a-cycling.tumblr.com) -Donate to http://www.razoo.com/br/causes/Hope-For-Addie -Like/Reblog this post!!
Hey, guys. John and Steven, here. :) We’re from Austin, Tx and we start a coast to coast bike tour in less than 48 hours. The goal is to raise $30,000 for Addie, a 5 year old little girl with Cerebral Palsy. Follow us, check out our Facebook page (Hope for Addie) and keep up with the trip of a lifetime!
Here I find myself on the edge of the precipice. Our 4,200 mile bike tour starts in 48 hours, we’re still trying to raise money, and the tent we bought is broken.
On the other hand, our 15 mile trial ride through the Cherokee National Forest this morning was nothing short of phenomenal. The weather was perfect outside, the traffic reasonable, and dipping in Goforth Creek’s ice cold water before kicking back in our hammocks capped off an amazing day. I haven’t felt this alive in too long.
Hey y'all, Hope for Addie has been really exciting lately. We have a lot to tell y'all! Lately we have been really busy getting ready for this bike ride. From working long hours to having fund raisers for the ride. Basically, if you are wondering, we have all the gear we need for the ride, and we have about all the money we need for the trip for food. We leave tomorrow morning at 8 to head to Cleveland, Tennessee (Stevens home town), where we will stay there for a few days till his parents take us to our starting point. We will begin riding Wednesday, but we will not be riding as far as we will be on a regular day because we are going to worship! We have said our goodbyes to all our good friends from here, and look forward to seeing them again. It was kind of sad that we are saying goodbye for now, but we will come back with stories to tell them. If you wish to follow our ride across the nation you can... 1)Follow us on Facebook at "Hope for Addie" 2)Follow us on Tumblr at "Hope for Addie" 3)Follow us on Instagram "Hope for Addie" 4)Follow me on Tumblr "Triple-A-Cycling" Please help us out by reposting this post! Thank you very much! Enjoy your weekend!
With less than a month until we start biking in Virginia, a dream has become a reality. At this point in the process I was expecting pure excitement and a sense of victory that we had gotten this far. While that’s part of it, my anxiety is practically palpable at the current moment.
We have 4,234...
As I think about all the work that is going into Hope for Addie, I am getting rather excited. There is a lot of great stuff happening. We have currently 5 sponsors, and we are still working to get more. Also, we had some great ideas to raise awareness for Addie and funds for the trip. Another great thing is I finally got my bike. It rides so smooth, and I love it. The first day I rode twenty miles, and today I rode 40. I wasn't really tired at all. Anyways, we have a great team working on all the Hope for Addie stuff. Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!
Spent an hour on the Bike today and Rode 22 miles. Preparing for the bike across America!
ALRIGHT Y’ALL. As I’ve briefly talked about in my last couple posts, I would like to share with you the story of the young girl pictured above, Addie. She is the 5-year old daughter of a Church of Christ minister and has been diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. This condition requires her to be on a feeding tube with the goal of helping her gain weight. The organic formula that has proven to be the most efficient is “Liquid Hope.” In order to raise funds to cover medical expenses and her formula, the 2 men pictured above (John and Steven) will be riding their bikes across the country, from Virginia to Oregon (the exact route is shown in the map above).
