Small things about Jess and Trish:

Before she knows about Luke, it is just a well-established truth for Trish that she is the only person that Jessica cares about. 

Trish is an addict in recovery, but she keeps alcohol in her apartment specifically for Jess.  

The idea of “we both know you don’t own a vacuum cleaner,” only owns one pair of jeans Jessica Jones(even pre-Kilgrave, there’s no way she wasn’t still sloppy) living with Trish in her expensive, pristine apartment.  

Rather than letting it go, they call each other out about lying or being evasive.  “No, you talk to me!  You tell me what the hell is so important!” “No teen choice award for you.”//“Are you sure that’s all?  “What’s going on, what’s in your bag?”  

Trish having a zero-tolerance policy for Simpson speaking ill of Jessica.  (Jessica:  Thanks, but I don’t need you!  Simpson:  Uh, yeah you do.  Trish:  No, she doesn’t.  

Simpson:  She probably scares guys off.  Trish:  You should stop there. )

They tell each other everything.  Jessica knows that Trish’s mom “accidentally bumped into her” in the city and has left her drunken voicemails.  Before disappearing for six months, Jess told Trish about her time with Kilgrave in enough detail that at the start of the series Trish knows about his anniversary rituals, about Reva, and about the extent of his power and its limitations.

We know at some point Trish decided she didn’t want her mother within 500 feet of her, although this agreement isn’t a real restraining order.  It’s just Trish’s wish, which Jessica has enforced.   

At her core, Jessica really is the hero Trish thinks she is.  When Kilgrave asks her why she enjoyed beating up the thugs hurting Malcolm, her answer is so simple and pure:  “Because I helped someone.  I made a difference.”  Not too far off from “What more do you want?”  “To save the world, of course.”
