Having a really unusual family life will make you constantly go to tell something to your friends but you realize you can't really do that because while it's normal to you it's actually very concerning and strange to them. And saying "oh it's fine it happens all the time it's been like that my whole life" actually doesn't provide valuable context that lightens the situation but makes it seem worse. And then you start to wonder, hm, maybe this thing being so normal for me is something that should be addressed? Because even though I speak casually about it I do still feel negatively about it? And constantly having experiences like that throughout my whole life may have actually negatively impacted me? But you store those thoughts away because you aren't really prepared to deal with that rn
