words don’t have a face but she can see the melancholy drilled onto his senior’s words. while factually true, zuri refuses to believe that he really did. or maybe she’s making herself think so— how could she not? that hurt, disappointing in oneself look on surena’s face was all too much. her lower lip’s caught between her teeth, quietly chewing it as she tries to think of a response.

then, a small smile pries itself onto her lips, hands then told to gently take the other’s in them. her smile grows, eyes shimmering with what little joy to add a little light into the tension that enveloped them.
