It’s just been a while since I’ve seen you guys perform, and with the grimy stuff that’s been happening recently, a performance from the town’s favorite group would totally make things a lot brighter.

I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I was actually doing it. It’s very relaxing, and I could definitely use more of that as of late. Lemon bars?? I haven’t had those since I was a kid, oh my god. We should 100% do a trade off some time soon.

Bethany: Oh goodness....so much. I love everything really. But my favorites are mostly new songs on the radio and musical theatre for sure.
Mercedes: Well, considering we only allow girls of color in our band, we're... limited in Riverdale, but it'll still be nice to keep our niche.
Mercedes: Ever heard of Janelle Monae? I want to say that starting out I tried to mend my music solely after the traditional divas of the world. But once I recruited Jane and she started bleeding her own music taste into the Troubletones, I have to say, we've been taking on a far more modern style of our music.
Mercedes: If you want to have a feel for the Troubletones, perhaps listen to the message of any of Janelle's songs. Not that we copy them directly. The Troubletones are all about originality and telling our version of the world and we're going to keep it like that no matter what.

As many of you saw, Mercedes mentioned a bit ago that she wanted to host a fundraiser for the people of the South Side who have lost their homes. We are going to be following through with that and I have found the perfect place to do so. And because of that we are looking for a new member of the Troubletones. All we ask is you gotta be fierce and a woman of color. If you’re interested, let ‘Cedes or I know. We also hope to see all of you there, I know my girl will be real excited about it.
Last I knew, Jay, you were thinking it was a bad idea. What changed your mind? Why?

It’s already been shot to the ground at this rate. It’s out of the question and it’s sad but I know when to back down from a fight I’m losing on every single side around me.
