Felicia assessed him for a moment, wondering how much he really believed what he was saying. There was a time she knew his every move, but now Jeremy had changed and wasn’t hers to know anymore. Suddenly, the bartender put the drinks in front of them and without thinking about it, the girl took the shot in one sip. “That was the only time I thought in someone that wasn’t me” This time, here eyes were determined, even when they were still blurry from the alcohol. “I thought of you. I put you about everything” Putting the glass on the bar again, her attention came back him and her next words were slow, but strong. “And I would do it again, and again, and again”
He wanted to believe her, he really did, but at this point in his life he didn’t. Because she was out there living her life so effortlessly and he was stuck here with consistent reminders of what he had and lost. Stuck not living his dreams because of an injury that destroyed his life. It wasn’t anything that he could change. Felicia made her mind up and Jeremy had to live with it. “You may think you put me first, you may think that to make yourself feel better. But you don’t understand the turmoil it put me through.” A pause and he took in a deep breath to try and collect himself. “You’ll never understand.”
