He took her hands in his, and could feel the rough skin from her years of combat. "Katelyn?" It was time he finally took the chance, "I've loved you for years and I've never met or seen anyone quite like you..."

She looked at him with those charming eyes of hers, words she wanted to say but didn't. Instead leaving them to rest on her lips.

"I want to be with you, I want to be more. Would... would you take me as your husband?"

They stayed there, quiet in the cool air of the mountain for what seemed like a lifetime. A gentle giggle broke the moment, and shattered it with a laugh.

Katelyn was laughing, trying to hold it back with a hand held to her face. "Travis... Travis your-"

"Wha... what? What's wrong?" His face burned, was this a mistake? Maybe he shouldn't have done this...

She steadied herself for a moment, "There's... a bird on your head," Another quick bout of laughter sounded off, "I think it's trying to nest!"

"Wait what?!" His hands flew to the top his head, and in fact felt a feathery friend clinging to his curls. "Hey! Hey shoo! Go away!" He struggled for a few minutes before finally grabbing it off and holding it in his hands. The damned thing cooed in retort and if it could, Travis suspected it would be wearing a shit-eating grin right then.

Katelyn's laughter died down and the two looked at the little avian before Travis set it down on a nearby bush, dusting off his hands of any troublesome feathers. "Well it's gone now, huh?"

"Yes let’s hope it doesn't come back, now where were we?" He fumbled around, trying to bring the mood back to the gentle affection there was before *something* interrupted

"I was about to say yes."

"Oh yeah uh Katelyn will you-- wait what."

"I said, yes. Of course I will marry you," She smiled at him softly, full of warmth.

"Oh I... yes of course! Yeah I figured you would say yes considering I uhh..." He stopped, he had nowhere to go with this. "Right! I have a ring!" He dug around his pockets for a moment before pulling out a small leather bag, shaking out a simple silver ring. "Sorry about how it looks, I haven't had much time to find anything better yet."

She let him slide it on, and admired the shine it had when it caught the sunlight just right, "I think its perfect my love."
