The new title of Episode 207 is- ‘Where Pleasant Fountains Lie’Â
Now Mild spoilers ahead-
I wanted to practice on some Reddit templates and decided to make some Lower Decks Fanart-
Here’s a link to those templates-
https://www.pinterest.at/pin/766456430332284504/
Minir 20th century detail, those "frames" the model-ship components come off of are called "sprues." Some pseudo-after-market sites sell sections of larger kits by specific sprues so folks can get, say, this fuselage with those wings or the other nacelles, ESPECIALLY with the wargaming minis community.
Oh, thanks for reminding me. I didn't know that.
My cousin had tons of these model kits and never let the frames go. I don't collect models so I never knew what they're called. But I've had my closet spew out these things all the time.
Quick Analysis of the S2 Trailer
1. The Space Probe that the gang are one looks identical to the space probe that the Enterprise-D found in the TNG episode ‘The Neutral Zone’.
2. The Green Alien we see is actually an Alien from the Animated Series, called the Pandronians. They showed up in the TAS episode ‘Bem’. In the same scene, you can see the crew and weirdly, even Shax. He might be back.
3. In this scene and many others, is looks like Boimler is back on the Cerritos as an Ensign. He might just be undercover from the Titan or actually managed to bust himself back down.
4. Freecloud from Picard has been visited again by Lower Decks. We can see Tendi and Mariner running through the same street we saw Rios beam onto in Picard. And on the side, we can see Quark’s Franchise Bar on the left and a Caitian on the right.
5. The new Security Chief is Kaishan who is a Tamarian, a legend of a species from a well known episode of TNG, ‘Darmok’. Tamarians speak by giving example, as in metaphors or memes. In Comic-con, though, Mike McMahan mentioned that he does speak a little English, once in a while.
Also, he is wearing a drape which is similar to TNG S1 Worf.
6. I think that when he says, ‘Rapunki, when he joins the Seven’ it might be a reference to ‘The Seven’ in Jack Quaid’s ‘The Boys’.
Also, we can see that Dr. Migleemo is back on the Bridge. Paul. F. Thompkins, who plays the counselor, is also a friend of Tawny Newsome. They host the Official Star Trek Podcast ‘The Pod Directive’ together and in that podcast, he has mentioned before that he is coming back.
7. The moment when Mariner says, ‘Computer: RAMMING SPEED!’ is a direct reference to Worf in Star Trek: First Contact. Also, in the background, in that crate is some object that shows up in another scene in the Trailer which I will point out later.
8. Rutherford, who’s clearly lost his memory, is covered in what looks like Neurocortical Stimulators from the Voyager Era. Also, sadly, in the background, we can see the remains of the Sequoia.
Well, the Sequoia has been damaged all of S1 in the background so... Flashback?
9. This looks like another scene where Mariner is trying to escape the ‘Four Lights’ Oscar-worthy room while dealing with a Female Cardassian.
10. We see another scene of the USS Macduff that we saw in the First Teaser back in April. It looks to be in Debris, being chased by 3 unknown vessels which weirdly, reminded me of the Pakled tiny ships.
11. Aye, the Dad-miral is back! Freeman is already Captain and he wouldn’t be talking to random people so he’s probably asking Mariner to get promoted.
12. This isn’t an Easter egg but I just thought it was funny. On the wall of the Brig, Mariner has scribbled up a castle and written, ‘Mariner’s HQ’ with 2 ticks.
13. When Boimler is phasing through, we get a glimpse at the Titan’s Transporter room and it looks nearly identical to the Transporter of the Enterprise-E.
14. In the background when the gang beam down to some sort of Museum, we can see the Picture that Picard tried to paint of a nude lady in the TNG episode ‘A matter of Perspective’.
15. In the same scene, there are many more Easter eggs like-
- A Bat’leth
- Mek’leth
- Andorian Ice mining tool/ Ushantar
- Jem Hadar Cartican Sword
- Vulcan Lerpa
- The Fin of a Catan Probe from ‘The Inner Light’ sticking out.
16. After analyzing what Jett was holding in his hand, I realized that it looked like a Doll of Lt. Kaishan? Look for yourself, it’s him.
17. In this scene, we can see the object that I mentioned before, in Tendi’s hand. Also, the aliens that Mariner flings Latinum at are Nausicans.
18. Just when Tendi was being swallowed, in the background was a broken Glass container. When Tendi says, ‘Don’t touch me’ you can see more containers with different things in the background just behind Mariner. One even looks like a piece of that Orange Alien Blob.
19. When Mariner and Tendi run away, we get a good look at a Dom Jot Table which looks identical to the one seen in the TNG episode, ‘Tapestry’.
20. Jeffery Combs, a well-known Trek background actor, does a cameo as the Evil Robot that’s asking Mariner to lose a couple pounds. You may remember him as Shran from ENT.
21. This is just another funny catch. When Tendi and Rutherford are building the Cerritos model, you cans see the little plastic nets that are used to hold on the ship pieces which is used a lot here now. That’s just a quirky attention to detail that I love.
(FUN FACT- Did you know that the OG Borg cube that we see was mad up of those plastic nets.)
22. Robert Duncan McNeil is back as a... Plate? Well, he’s still back, yay.
They’re actually selling that plate irl on Startrek.com which is a callback to the Janeway Voyager Commemorative plate.Â
23. Borg Boimler! Boimler Borg! Boimler of Borg! Borgmler?Â
Jokes aside, ‘Borgmler’ is recreating that moment with Locutus of Borg in TNG ‘Best of Both Worlds’.
24. That Crystalline entity is back too.Â
25. In the cage of the Ferengi vessel, we can see a Mugatu, which was seen in the teaser back in August.
26. As seen, Boimler and Mariner are wearing what looks to be an updated version of the Insurrection Dress uniforms.Â
27. One of the Security officers that’s dragging Mariner away is an Antaran.
That’s it.Â
Tell me if you found any more.
Look Familiar?
Some things in the New Teasers/Trailers you might’ve missed.
1. Saru is back on the Discovery
Other than the handshaking in the end, Saru is in the Background on the bridge for just a split second. Is he back on the Discovery a First Officer or is he just visiting friends? Well, he does have some different badge on with the Delta so maybe he’s a representative of Kaminar now?
2. New AR Wall on the Set
I just wanted to add in that Discovery just added in a new AR wall on set for hyper-realistic backgrounds with little editing. It was used in this scene with Book and I think it looks great. If you wanna see more of the AR wall, you can go watch it in use on ‘The Mandalorian’.
3. Peace Summit?
In this scene, there are flags and representatives from many species such as Klingon, Bajoran, Ferengi, Federation, LA, and more. Plus, if you look at the person on Picard’s right, it looks like Raffi’s there too. In Uniform. I suspect that this is just an Alternate timeline.Â
4. Possible Time Travel to the 21st century?
In this wonderful poster that they released, many people have noticed that this is obviously LA. But other than some of the S1 LA scenes, NOTHING is modernized in any way. Also, according to lore, LA is actually underwater by 2047, I think. Since they’ve mentioned TIME about a billion times in the teaser, is this a possible time travel or am I overthinking it like an idiot?
5. Seven’s Married?
In this last cliffhanger, you can notice that Seven actually has a Wedding Band. Since it looks like they’re in an alternate timeline and she was never ‘Borg-ified’, Seven/Annika might’ve had a normal life in this universe and got married.Â
(Idk about all of you, but my mind is just screaming ‘Married? That means Chakotay Cameo!!)
6. Laris is back
It’s obvious that she’s coming back but the thing you might not have known is that she’s gonna have a much bigger part in the story than last season. Another thing is that Zhaban isn’t been seen once and sadly, with the actor’s timings, there’s a chance that he might not be in this season. Just a chance.Â
7. New Upgrade on the Cerritos
It’s a bit small to notice but the Deflector Dish is glowing orange here. In last season, it was a glowing white. Here are a couple theories-
- Freeman did take a small upgrade on the Dish and now it’s a bit more powerful which is gonna come in handy somewhere in the season later.
- This isn’t a part of the ship and is actually a problem or fault on the ship for some Episode Plot.
- The Titan went into a wormhole in the end so... Alternate Universe?
- This is a split shot of the Cerritos just before it’s firing the Deflector Dish which is why it’s burning orange.
- I’m overthinking it and it’s just a choice by the Animators that doesn’t really affect anything. In Ketwolski's long Interview, Mike McMahan did say that the animators are taking the good animation style from S1 and smoothing it and making it even better.
8. Boimler’s in this scene
I tried to clarify it as much as I could but in the scene where shots are being fired, you can zoom in just enough to see the purple-haired goof working on a panel. They’re wearing black uniforms so I only have 3 explanations for that-
- Chain of Command secret Mission Uniform.
- Section 31 stealth uniform. (Boimler Practiced the walk)
- Mirror Universe uniforms. (They went into a wormhole so-)

I just wanted to say that I almost missed this day because I’ve basically been travelling all day. I’m in the car right now.
We had to go to another house for the final ceremony for my Grandmother’s death. We ended up changing roads and having to get some other relatives who were 10 hours away and then go all the way back to the normal destination.
Thus, I had to do this one in the car and I couldn’t manage to add the finishing light effects and touches so sorry for that.

@ ALL YOU ARTISTS OUT THERE
I just have some questions(some just for knowledge and some just for fun):-
What part of the body is the hardest for you to draw?
HOW THE HELL DO YOU DRAW EYES THAT LOOK SO DAMN PERFECT?
Where do you learn to draw? (Youtube? Websites?)
How many hours do you guys spend practising?
What is the most frustrating thing you have faced as an artist?
Could you recommend any apps for drawing digitally? (I have a drawing tablet but I have to connect it to my laptop so you guys have any apps for that?)
What should you never say to an artist?
What helps set the mood for you guys to draw?
What is the hardest thing for you to draw?
What inspires you guys? Why do you guys draw?
If anyone is out there who wants to add any more questions feel free to do so.
Ah, okay
1. Usually, the rare times I do full body draws, I find the hair very hard to draw. If you try to draw it very detailed, it can look janky with the rest of the body. Thus, these days, I start with hair first and then continue the body from bottom.
2. I do a ton of just redraws and, yes. It is hard to make eyes look natural. The hard parts, for me, is the first step where you make the eye’s oval. It can work differently with anime eyes, cartoon, and real-looking eyes. Eyelashes are a hard to perfect too.Â
3. Weirdly, I didn’t learn from anywhere. I guess I just... did it. I’d recommend YT Tutorials, though. I know many animation experts and Online Artists who started on that.
4. It’s funny but I kinda consider myself just practicing right now with the pictures I post here. I don’t really care if I get no likes because I’m just here to do something with my art.Â
According to one of my pen pals, it does take 2-3 months to find a style of your own and be calm while drawing. I mean, for people who start with no drawing pad (like me), it takes a long time to make straight lines since it’s much harder to do it on a laptop touchpad.Â
5. For me, it was the detail. (Just saying, I don’t think that’s a huge problem with others)Â
When I started, my first one was much better than I’d expected. At first, my audience were just my parents. In time, they just stopped ever thinking it’s good because they just never trusted me. That went on here too. I still get ‘Art Filter threats’ to this day. It’s frustrating and very hurtful but still understandable. Soon, it stops affecting people like me, those kinds of things because we understand that people just have doubts and aren’t actually trying to threaten us.Â
After that, the hardest thing for me just became the time-taking process. I’m a really new ‘artist’ right now so the time I take in one Re-draw is always more than normal. I never really finish one picture in one sitting.Â
6. I don’t use a drawing tablet so, I don’t have any to recommend.
7. Like I said, I think for a person who makes pictures and has evidence of working on it, the thing you probably shouldn’t say is a ‘It just looks like an Art filter.’
Like, that can be true but if you say MULTIPLE times to someone who actually spends a lot of work on a painting, it might just make the artist angry or frustrated and give a more aggressive response which can escalate to an actual problem.Â
 8. Usually, it’s just coffee and music without words. Like, some sort of music that just melts in the background when you’re getting focused and comes right back when you want to stop and take a break for just a minute.Â
Not having an audience while drawing can also be helpful. The feeling that you’re all alone and have the freedom to do whatever you want can be calming.Â
9. It’s the lighting and the shadows.Â
10. For me, I just do Star Trek stuff. It really calms my nerves to draw ships, space and are just so many different things in Star Trek to draw.Â
I draw because I just... do it. I first started just to distract myself when my dad got paralyzed. Then, I got my Trek knowledge to max and it was just intriguing to me when I finished, the potential. Now, I’ve just gotten into it as a hobby. Â
I hope this could help :)
Daily Draw #17
I did Miles O’Brien for today since it’s the Actor Colm Meaney’ birthday who played our lovable O’Brien today.Â
Go to Twitter and go wish him a Happy Birthday and show him some love for giving us this amazing character.
Daily Draw #16
It’s Jett Reno.
Daily Draw #15
It’s Mariner this time. I tried to do a different style instead of doing the actual animation design because it just looks the same-
Can you guess which Borg is which?
