happy belated birthday @definitionsfading! you've so long been talking about a kind of modern-day Marty with an instagram account and while i was doing this, the idea came to my mind that maybe I (and anyone else interested) could do a kind of performance art thing with a Real Instagram account, the more the better, taking turns to update it and stuff? and while we’re at it we could even fill some prompts from @truedetectiveprompts. I know some people don’t really mess their “online fan life” with their “online real life” (im sorry idk how to phrase this properly) so maybe we could keep things vague enough to make it look like just another insta account. 

Finally I’ll finish as a question so people can reply, what do you think?

ART PROMPT: Rust and Marty in Christmas-themed costumes, general cold weather clothing (!!!), or the ugliest Christmas sweaters imaginable. Special appearances from mistletoe and/or Santa hats would be precious.

Rust and Marty somehow meet the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Future, but they do it together and are surprised and/or touched by the moments they see in each other’s lives.

any era, ‘95 through post-2012: Rust and Marty are investigating a case that leads them to an old Louisiana plantation during the holiday season. It’s very beautiful and historical………and also extremely haunted (but with what?). can be spooky but I’d also love to see some Christmas cheer in there!

Sometime-in-between-‘95-and-‘02, Maggie makes Marty invite Rust over on Christmas to spend the day with the family, because Rust is definitely MISERABLE on Christmas at that point in his life, the poor thing, and she feels sorry for him.

Post-Carcosa: In an effort to hopefully rekindle a sense of family with their dad, Audrey and Macie decide to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Marty’s house for the first time in several years. The thing is, Rust is still living there with him.

Marty comes home to find Rust has gotten them a Christmas tree, and has made it particularly beautiful with lights and tinsel. He wasn’t expecting any kind of Christmas spirit from Rust and shocked to see it.
