An Angel and a Devil Once Met ♔
It was already late when the young girl hugged her friend goodbye — at least for her definition of the word ‘late’, her parents’ definition. Still; There was a bright smile on her face as she left the house behind, making her way through the empty streets. A lot of people did not feel comfortable when it was dark and they were on their own, but this was one of the places where nothing ever happened. The worst emergencies here seemed to be cats that got stuck on high trees, or someone who got a little too drunk at the bar, but that was all. A small and very quiet town. It was that kind of a place that would bore so many people, but frankly Katherine did not mind all that much. She had more than enough fun with her friends and, thanks to her parents, she focused on school rather than parties anyway. It was rare for her to open the door to the mentioned bar and step into it, but she knew that her parents would be asleep and she did not want to wake them by cooking something. It was better like this. “I’ll have a water and a cheeseburger, please.” She muttered with a gentle smile once the waiter asked, reaching for her purse as he walked off again. Yes, it was a bar, but people knew her. They accepted her. Her fingertips wandered over the touchscreen of her phone, at least until she noticed the movement out of the corner of her eye and she looked up to get a better view.
There were two things she could tell in an instant; He was new and something about him just screamed ‘danger’. Both things were enough for her to get curious, but there was something about him that caused her to be hesitant. Not to mention that he was already leading a conversation, so he certainly did not need another local to give him information that he probably did not care about. He did not look like he did. He looked more like one of those guys that drank and took a ride on their motorcycle whenever they could.
Brown hues wandered down to her phone again and she attempted to ignore the conversation while she forced herself to keep her eyes on the screen. She should probably just.. eat and get home. Fast.
Damon had learned pretty quickly how to keep an eye on people in the most inconspicuous manner possible, carrying on conversations with the barman and a stranger or two, all the while never actually losing sight of his target. He'd finished his beer and moved on to the real stuff, fingers twitching slightly around the glass as he got irritated and impatient with the patron currently talking to him, blabbering on like an idiot. It wasn't even that late but the guy was already trashed, and Damon had understood quite quickly he'd be of no use to him. He was barely paying attention by then, however, as he'd seen the pretty brunette catch sight of him. The young biker had to do everything in his power not to smirk, less he betray himself. But the most important part was done. Now, he could practically see the gears turning in that lovely head of hers, but he had to be careful if he wanted her to truly give in to that probably unfamiliar feeling bubbling up inside of her, especially as she avoided looking at him thereafter. The time was ripe. Downing the rest of his drink, tipping the bartender and giving a hearty smack on the drunk patron's shoulder, Damon left his bar stool sauntering over to the girl stopping on the side of the table facing hers. "If I had known there were girls like you in town, I might not have made such a fuss about moving," He opened with his most charming and friendly grin. The trick was not to come on too strong. Besides something about her intrigued him: he wasn't trying to take her home and get in her pants or anything like that. Even if she was very attractive, Damon saw a lot more potential in the type of fun that could be had. If he could get through to her and crack this one... But it was a long term project. It took commitment. "I'm Damon," he offered, reaching his hand out. "Do you mind if I join you?"
