My photo art is on the front page of El Tecolote along with another photo published with my feminist poem “ Gentrifier” that I wrote for this edition of Community Poetry. The poem was translated into Spanish.
She is probably best known as friend, confidant–and in some cases, girlfriend–to legends like James Brown, Little Willie John, Sam Cooke, and perhaps most notably, Jimi Hendrix (it is believed that several Hendrix songs are about her, including “Foxy Lady”). She was also Etta James’ best friend.
However, Lithofayne Pridgon is also a singer/songwriter. You can hear some of her recordings on YouTube (link below).
