"It's only treason if the loyalty is mutual." When called daddy Benjamin mad a gross face and shook his head. "Don't say it like that." He told her and bobbed his head with a shrug. He wasn't sure what his feelings were towards his son was. "I'm as much of a father as a sperm donor is. He's a freak and is losing the last of his sanity, if he ever had any. For all we know he's been faking being sane and can't mask it any more."
He places his hand on Misty's shoulder and starts guiding her down the hall like they were just casually having a conversation. "Homelander needs some sense beat into him, I need to do some tough parenting. Then when he's recovering, you can be the one there for him. A little hurt and comfort teamwork to help him out, hm?" The older supe explained the general idea of his plan. It wasn't set in stone and could definitely change with outside forces at play. "Focus on your talk show, continue singing Homelander's praises and whatever else he want. Keep yourself busy and out of the way, you'll be just fine kid."
"I don't think it works like that..." She mumbled more to herself than to him. She had already figured out for herself that he wouldn't be persuaded no matter what she said. "Not like that." She swatted at the air near her body when he pulled the face. Of course, what he says about Homelander hits a chord inside of Misty that makes her nervous, as if just thinking that something might be off - well, more off - about her leader would land her in hot water. As if Homelander could read her mind or even smell the treacherous thoughts on her. Misty went as she was moved, walking along with Ben as if they were just on a stroll, her head turned in his direction. "I...don't think he'd like that much." Whether she meant the 'tough parenting' or her comforting afterward, it was hard to say. Probably both in all actuality. The last thing Homelander wanted was pity, and he didn't exactly show Misty that kind of trust that he'd allow her to be a comfort to him. Even if it was something she would want herself. "This is bad. This is so bad."
"The only issue with pumpkin spice is that it's only during a certain time of year."
"If there's an infinity scarf involved, then you'll have ticked all the boxes."
He rolled his eyes at the redhead, a spitfire she was and he liked that about her. That was why he was trying to look out for her. "I'm telling you that no matter how loyal you are, how many times you let him suck on your tits, he doesn't give a flying fuck about you. Or Black Noir or the fish guy. He will kill every one of you if it will give him an edge. Hell! He'll kill you for no reason at all." Benjamin tried to explain and clenched his jaw. "I'm not saying lie or hide from him. I'm telling you don't go throwing yourself at someone who doesn't want you." He might not been around in Homelander's life long but he knows the kind of man he is to see what was coming.
Her eyes widened in shock and embarrassment at the mention of, ahem, breastfeeding. Misty had done whatever it took to endear herself to the leader of the Seven - including start a regimen of drugs that produced lactation - and while it worked for a while, the drugs had made her ill and enlarged her heart. Despite her dedication and loyalty to Homelander, her health had to take priority, and she had lost favor in his eyes. It had been devastating, yet she persevered in her quest for his love. She was nothing if not determined and ambitious. "This feels like...like treason even discussing this. You're his daddy, don't you love him?"

"I think you need to get the fuck out of here." Benjamin said not threatening or annoyed with her, but rather giving a warning. "Whatever you're thinking about saying to Homelander, don't." His ton firm, voice low as he didn't want anyone hearing what he was saying. "Shit is about to hit the fan and there's going to be casualties."
Misty narrowed her eyes in a quick expression of irritation. It seemed like there was always a man barking order in her general vicinity. Her loyalty was to Homelander first and foremost, so if she had important information, he needed to hear it from her. He didn't like secrets, and she wasn't out to draw ire. "If he finds out that I knew something and didn't tell him, I'll be that casuality."
"I suppose a part of me had to be a little basic. Other than my sugary coffee order."
"But are you a pumpkin spice girly?"
"Can't beat a classic look. Although I can make anything look good."
"I prefer bright colors, patterns. Black can be so basic."
"Nothing. It's just too patriotic for my taste."
"I'm patrotic. What do you prefer? Plain black?"

“Uh…yeah. I usually watch VNN.” Samuel murmured softly. He glanced at her slowly, then chuckled nervously. “Well, I guess I WAS famous from a time. But how DO you know me, anyway? Please don’t tell me it’s the movies…”
"Then you've probably seen my show. You knew my name, didn't you?" Her Southern Belle charm was in full swing. She just might have been a wee bit startstruck - just a little. "Well, I have seen the movies, but I know you from your time in the Seven, of course."
“So…uh…Firecracker, right? I think I’ve seen you before…”
"Uh huh, that's me, sugar." She flashed him a bright, TV worthy smile. "Have you seen my show the Truthbomb on VNN? That might be where you know me from." Firecracker tapped her finger on his bicep, the smile turning charming. "I know you though, Mister Marathon. I'd recognize that face anywhere."
