Oh shit. He doesn't like that tone. His mind is racing of what he might've done wrong. Should he run? Should he hide? Both would just piss Vlad off more so reluctantly he comes over.

"Hm... No. I refuse." He says while hugging Cloud close like a child holding onto their favorite toy. There's no escape, he'll never let go.
Once he woke up from whatever it was they had given him, he had calmed down enough to sit in the farthest corner away from the bars. The last thing he expected was for the naga to come and talk to him. So when he said that this was the one chance to avoid execution, the Witcher looked at him with disbelieve.
“I was hired to kill you because you pose a threat to the technology they claim you’re using to create and win a war. That you are forcing war upon them that they cannot win. Killing you would save a lot of lives.”
Sephiroth blinked at him surprised by this information. "This war was initiated by Novigrad because they tried to invade and steal the our technology. I've sent a half dozen negotiators to try and convince them to surrender, they've either sent back their heads or haven't come back at all. I would've been open to trade but they did not even make an attempt, only wanted violence. Now that they're outmatched they go the underhanded route with sending an assassin...." The naga explained and heaved an exhausted sigh. This war was as mentally straining as it was physically.
"I'm not sure what to do with you... If I send you back they'll likely kill you for failing and just send another assassin." He says as he rubs his head. He didn't want more people dying but the opposing kingdom refuses to stop antagonizing them. "I'm sorry you were lied to and put in the middle of this."

Alastor with neither big tits or big pecs, nor any ass for that matter. He is very much a tall stick man.
"Theres really nothing desirable here."
He thinks he should be angry over Alastor telling him he'd never been back to the bar ever since their falling out, but anger feels like a distant emotion now, nebulous and hard to cling onto. And he can't even say that he would exactly blame his former friend for that, if he has to think on it. Vincent had been the only reason why Alastor even entertained going to that bar in the first place, and now that he's dead and gone and buried, there's no reason for him to venture there anymore. Not to mention that the Radio Demon has made it abundantly clear in the past that he'd rather be caught dead before willingly venturing onto Vox's territory for any reason other than to draw him out for a turf war, in the same way that Vox himself absolutely refuses to have anything to do with Cannibal Town even on a good day.
He's convinced himself over the years that that was due to them being a bunch of creepy, outdated little fucks, and not burning jealousy over the idea of Rosie taking up more of Alastor's time than him. Committing further thought to the idea would have just driven him mad.
"I a-alwaysch n'd ass'rance. Re'surance. Wha'ever. Tha's what y' said. Br'ken fr'm th' start, me. An' y' were right. Y'r always right." A tone of vulnerability, sneaking in before he can entirely stop it. "....I th'nk she w's....right 'bout me too." Scrubbing at his face with one hand, inhaling a shaky breath to try and fight back the tears that seem annoyingly determined to build in his eyes all of a sudden. He doesn't even seem to notice that he's leaving the question of who this mysterious she is unanswered, in the midst of his drunken state, dangling between them like a length of rope that no one's managed to tie off.
"....I'd like tha'," he mumbles out at Alastor's proposal about them meeting up at the old spot sometime, curled up on the couch with the phone pressed against the side of his head. "I c'n break out one 'f my nice suits f'r you. We c'n....jus'. Preten' nothin' happened.....'tween us....an' y' c'n look at me lik' I matter 'gain--" Even as he says it, he knows it can never come to pass. Knows that there's too much bad blood between the two of them now for any extended olive branches to make up for it. But damn if a tiny part of him doesn't want it to be real anyway. Doesn't want things to go back to the way they'd been before, before he'd made the mistake of actually being vulnerable towards someone and fucked it all up.
He knows he's never going to have that ever again. Why the fuck does he keep trying so hard to bring it back.
"....r'ght. Schleep. I c'n.....yeah. F'r you. Jus'.....pr'mise me 's not too late f'r us?" The phone dips lower in his hand as his voice becomes heavier with sleep, eyes half-lidded. "I don'....wan' it t' be...."
Judging from the clatter from the other end of the phone, he's suddenly collapsed from exhaustion without bothering to hang up, the phone slipping out of his hand to smack against the floor. Whether he'll remember this conversation in the morning or not is anybody's guess, but at least he's now sleeping somewhat soundly, if the soft snores that start sounding a minute later are any indication.
It hurt to hear Vox in such a state, the emotion so raw was not something Alastor ever liked dealing with. He was not good at comforting, though in the moment he wish he could do more. It hurt to hear the crack in the other's voice with the slurred words, knowing that there were tears on the other side of this phone call. Whoever this she was passed over Alastor's head, instead he was glad to hear that his suggestion did bring Vox some comfort.
There a clatter after Vox stops mid sentence but Alastor knows what he was going to say. I don't want to be alone. A fear he knew Vox always had since the start, that's why the media demon formed the Vees. But now even they weren't on his side any more, or not as close as before.
"You always mattered to me, darling, and you always will matter to me. Theres nothing I want more than to start again, to do it right this time. I just don't think you'd ever trust me again. You might want me, but you'll always doubt my intentions. Fear that I will hurt you again. I don't think there's anything I can do to rebuild your trust." Alastor continued speaking after he was aware that Vox was asleep, finding the words coming easier this way. "Good night, Vincent." The thought of Vox recording this call has him quickly hanging up before he says any more. Alastor silently resumes his own drinking but doesn't reach the level of drunkness as Vox had before he too turns in for the night.
[📜] The way his stomach began to flutter with butterflies at Thorin's words had the hobbit flustered. It wasn't a bad feeling, but he was very aware of the way his heartbeat picked up at the hand that gently caressed his face. He couldn't remember the last time he actually had gotten a full nights rest. Likely somewhere back at Beorn's farmstead was the last night of decent rest he had gotten. It had been a series of events ever since then, only ramping up the closer they had gotten to the mountain.
And then they were here and then Thorin was sick.
The idea of getting some good rest knowing Thorin was alive and even at his side was a welcome one he would like to indulge. "Alright then, I'll try to be still," he commented as he pulled back the covers enough so he could crawl into bed beside Thorin. It felt a little awkward at first, never having really shared a bed except for maybe when he was a child. He didn't have anyone back home he ever fancied and was sort of closed off from the other hobbits. So laying next to someone like this was new, but nice.
Once he was settled beside him, he glances up at Thorin to ask, "Is this alright? Are you comfortable?" It would seem even he couldn't relax until he was sure the dwarf was settled and fine. "I think both of us will benefit from a nice long night of sleep," he added with a smile.
The dwarf shifted and moved to lay down, the pillows adjusted just right. Bilbo climbed in beside him and he lifted his arm so the hobbit could lay close to him. The dwarf pulled Bilbo close and nuzzled at him, the closeness bringing him a peaceful joy. He wasn't alone and he wasn't hated. This was more than he deserved but he was happy.
"I'm perfectly comfortable, thank you." Thorin said already closing his eyes and starting to drift off. His hand rubbing at Bilbo's arm lightly, just assuring himself the hobbit was still there. "Sweet dreams, Bilbo..."
[📜] He watches Thorin for a few moments, smiling softly. "...Sleep well, Thorin," he says softly, bringing a hand up to brush the side of his face. There is a sense of relief that washes over him, making him feel more relaxed than he's been in a while. Closing his eyes, he was quick to drift off to sleep.
In the weeks that followed, the company would make their recovery from the battle. The dead weird laid to rest and reward was thoroughly given to the people of Laketown. While Thorin's recovery was going well, everyone tried not to stress him out too much with all of the politics yet.
Thorin was finally cleared from bedrest, now encouraged to wander the halls of Erebor. He was still made to take it easy though, and Bilbo was tasked with ensuring that he didn't overdo it. The dwarf was stubborn but the hobbit could be even more so. "Do you want to go outside today?" Bilbo asked, "Some fresh air and sunlight might do you some good." They'd been cooped up inside for a few weeks now, Bilbo not leaving Thorin's side. Seeing outside and feeling the sunlight might do the hobbit some good as well.
The weeks that followed felt like months to Thorin. Every days was so slow, doing anything took time. Simple things were difficult and others felt near impossible. Cleaning himself up helped, much needed to keep infection out of his wounds. It was refreshing after traveling for so long, contrary to what some might believe dwarves didn't like being dirty they were just able to tolerate it when the luxury of a bath wasn't available.
Able to get out of bed, though needing to walk with a cane for now, Thorin was in brighter spirits. He could leave his room and get some things done. Caught up on the going-ons of the kingdom, their neighbors and everything else. It was not stressful, it was a good distraction from the pain. Though he had been given medicine he didn't let on that the herbs were hardly doing anything. Color had returned to his skin and he was bulking back up the weight he had lost.
He was at his desk writing a later to his kin when Bilbo, who had not left his side since waking, spoke about going outside today. He paused his writing to look over at the hobbit then back down, after a moment of thought he nodded. "I think you're right, as usual, some fresh air will do me good." Thorin says as he sets his quill back in its holder and puts the letter away to finish later. He grabs his cane and gets up from his chair carefully then stepping towards Bilbo he offers his other hand for the hobbit to take and lead the way out.

A radio host in life? That piece of information shouldn't be surprising. During his brief stay in Hell, Vincent has gathered a few facts about how the place works and about its inhabitant. Sinners' forms and powers seem to be related by what they used to be in life and by how they have died, first and foremost. And so is the subtle but inescapable torments that plague their afterlife specifically.
It's why he is cursed with a TV for a head, why he can connect to certain pieces of technology and why his animal-related traits are those of a shark. And it's also why his breakdowns and worst moods are so easily visible, to the point that they can affect any electronic device around him. He cannot hide as well as he used to do down there.
"Well, it's great that you had the chance to continue here what you had started on Earth," he comments, chasing those thoughts away, even if his smile remains a little strained. "And you can even do more now, right? No rules or boundaries down here! Uh, at least, if you're someone as powerful as you are..."
He can't exactly say the same about himself. He has plans and aspirations and he has been doing okay so far, but he is painfully aware of how much he still has to do before he gets to climb as high as he wishes to be. But that's fine. He has reached stardom once before, he can do it again. And go even further this time.
Alastor's amused comment snaps him back to reality and the TV demon's eyes widen in horror. Is that what people think of his new name hearing it the first time?
"What? No! That's not it! It's...It's the Latin word for voice," he rushes to correct, shaking his head hard enough that he almost knocks himself off the stool. "It's a wordplay, because I'll...you know, what I said earlier. I'll be the one talking to the people and all that. Or, uh, that's the plan, at least. Without...getting in your way. Hell, I would love to advertise your broadcasts, of course! Get you the attention they deserve."
That sounds a little too much as ass-kissing, doesn't it? Maybe, but he's being honest about it. Especially after Alastor's tone drops down one octave and turns smoother than silk.
Something tightens in Virgil's chest, an emotion he can't name, and his screen grows hotter, a cyan hue spreading in the middle of it. He refuses to acknowledge it, telling himself that he has no idea of why he is reacting like that, but the truth is that he can't stop staring, just as he can't stop listening. The Radio Demon is so pretty, so alluring, so tempting and the TV demon's hands itch with the need to touch him.
"Wow, that's...really inspiring. Finding freedom in Hell after all the crap life put you through..." He manages to say, drumming his fingers nervously against the counter. "And I'd...like that. No, I'm absolutely flattered that you want to...sing for me. I-I bet your singing voice is...lovely."
Fuck. If his head gets any hotter he'll end up overheating and rebooting.
"I...I like classic rock, mostly? And jazz."
The deer aspect of his appearance was unfortunate, but he'd take it with a more human aligned appearance than some of the other sinners he's seen. A television for a head seemed rather unfortunate, bulky and likely a strain on the neck. But the animated expressions were rather amusing, especially seeing how the other would practically glow.
"There are rules and boundaries in place for us sinners, but I'm very good at finding loopholes." Who knows, if Virgil earns some trust maybe Alastor would be willing to share a few of his tricks. He listens to what Vox actually means and nods, that makes more sense but not as funny as what he came up with. "I don't know latin. I speak louisiana creole, french and haitian. Besides english of course." Alastor shared, the languages revealing quite a bit of ethnic background in life. Something that hardly anyone knew about the radio demon, except those that knew him in life.
Why was he sharing such personal things with a strange anyway? A passing thought as he stared at his company. Possibly because this was the first sinner to show some genuine interest in him. It was rather nice.
"I enjoy jazz and blues... But I think I can work with rock, after all the radio plays all music." Alastor hums softly, thinking of the kind of rock he's heard recently to see what he could come up with. "Why dont you see if the jukebox has a song you like?" He'd be able to get an even clearer picture of the kind of man Virgil is like by the music he listens to.
"I meant previously. I mean worked. Why are you questioning me, Benjamin? I'm not interested in her in that way if that's what you're thinking."
"She will think you are now after you sent her a dick pic!"
"I tried unsending it. Calm down. But it didn't work."
"I'll take care of it."

"We work together. Also what exactly are you doing?" He asked.
There was a delayed response to Weskers text. "Why are you working with Ada ehen shes been helping Leon and Chris?" He doesnt answer the other question
"I meant to send you a dirty text but I accidentally sent it to someone else.."

"Ada. Ada Wong." He replied.
Again he didn't believe what he was reading. "Why the fuck do you even have her number?" He had other questions but he was too busy gearing up.
"I meant to send you a dirty text but I accidentally sent it to someone else.."
