Shuwalid is an annual three-day festival celebrated by the Harari people of Ethiopia. It marks the end of six days of fasting to compensate omissions during Ramadan. The Harari people celebrate Shuwalid at the shrines of Aw Shulum Ahmed and Aw Akebara, found at the main entrance gates of the walled city of Harar. The festival starts with supplications and spiritual songs, followed by the reading of scriptures, music and dance. St Kitts was beautiful! I stringed together a couple deals to make the flight & resort basically free (minus a lil bit in taxes). The AMEX Platinum has $300 in bi-annual credit for certain hotels so the key is to find a good one in a country (or a domestic spot) you actually want to check out that is either less than or not too much more than the credit. I did this in Panama in Dec. too. You also get $100 to use for dinner, spa, etc. With these top tier credit cards like the AMEX Platinum if you don't use the perks it's not really worth it to keep the card and (in this case) eat the annual $895 fee. With a lil research, wanderlust and flexibility you can find the sweet spot and get away from the madness for a bit to have a piece of peace... Traveling Black! @TRVLBLK
