I am a current nail ripper.. I'm getting better but my nails still aren't growing AT ALL!! Any tips?!?!?
Hmm I used to bite my nails and the skin all around them sooooo badly up until about 4 years ago ! I don’t seem to remember using any particular technique or method to try to stop, I just forgot about it ! It seems strange because I stopped around the time of my exams, and most people bite their nails due to stress but I never did, for me it was more just a therapeutic pass-time !
As I say, in the end I just forgot about needing/wanting to bite my nails. I would suggest that you maybe find something to keep you occupied instead for a short while, and once they get to a certain length you’ll notice how much you like the look of them (if you’re anything like me). I was at that point that I just stopped biting !
I hope this helps, keep me updated on the nail-situation ! :)
Do you paint your nails every day? If so, how do you keep your nails healthy (i.e. not cracking and peeling)? Do you use a specific nail polish remover or base coat?
Hellooo Anonymous, there are certain periods of time when I do paint my nails every day, but usually it’s about every other day ! I don’t have any particular moisturising routine to keep my nails and hands from cracking or flaking other than washing them with nice soap and water a couple of times a day.
I use OPI Nail Envy base coat every time I paint my nails - I swear by this stuff and although it can be a tad expensive its definitely worth it ! They do all sorts of Nail Envy for different types of nails (cracked nails, splitting nails, etc), although I just use the original one !
As far as nail polish remover is concerned I use one by Sally Hansen which contains acetone, but its just for normal nails. Again they do different sorts for all nail types, but I find that using the one that contains acetone is miles easier to use than without ! I only use pure acetone when I absolutely have to, which really isn’t very often at all !
I hope that helps, if you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask ! :)
