A collaborative wishlist & design pitch for TS4, by the community, for the community.

This living project imagines and advocates for what TS4 could be if it truly belonged to everyone. Our focus: closing long-standing gaps in representation and expanding gameplay depth across all playstyles.

Many of these ideas have already been proven possible by the modding community. Here, we collect them, expand them and show how they could work at an official level, not as a blueprint to copy, but as proof that the fanbase can make it happen if EA actually listens. Yes, we mean it: see your fucking fanbase.

The goal is simple: to dream and raise our voices for a TS4 that feels richer, more grounded and truly inclusive, not just in aesthetics but in mechanics.

The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits or Missed Opportunities?

EA just announced the 20th expansion pack, Adventure Awaits, arriving less than 2 months after the last EP. The timing alone raises questions about how much development depth amd reliable QA these packs are actually getting.

What stands out is how many features feel recycled or misplaced:

Boating and diving could have naturally refreshed Outdoor Retreat or Island Living.

Butterfly catching? Feels like OR insects, just rebranded.

Several mechanics feel like fragments of older ideas, rather than expansions of existing systems.

This isn’t to dismiss new content entirely, but to highlight a pattern: instead of deeper, interconnected gameplay, we’re often seeing siloed features stretched into full-price expansions.

Daily Life and Simulation Improvements

The Sims 4 already gives us tools to tell personal stories but daily life often feels static, repetitive or superficial. This part of Opportunity Awaits isn’t about cluttering gameplay with busywork; it’s about giving depth, choice, and consequence to the everyday so Sims feel like they’re actually living.

Apart from the features detailed in the infographic, here are some upgrades we think could really bring Sims’ daily life to life and that feel realistically doable for EA:

🧩 More and better tought out skills: separate dance style, everyday trades as gameplay, intellectual and developmental skills with weight

🍳 Cooking overhaul: more global recipes, dietary options and preferences panel (think gender options panel)

💼 Careers in daily life: everyday work outside rabbit holes: office gossip, coffee breaks, meetings, union organizing and side hustles that tie careers into family and community

🧼 Hygiene, Dental & Vision Care: personal care that carries stakes: cavities, glasses, medical bills and how neglect shapes moods, autonomy, appearance and relationships.
