the feeling, the fall
I'm driving home now
from the trans girl dive bar
from the monthly trans poetry slam that I host there
after seeing so many cities and so many queer communities in the last 2 months I'm feeling so blessed to be in St Louis. I'm feeling so connected to the community here and to the trans women here and to the love and the support and the family that I've built around me.
The city is full of beautiful inspiring strong women who are fighting and thriving through all of it. I talked about fighting games with a girl named patchouli while smoking weed outside of the bar.
I read a Miss major quote followed by a Joss barton poemas the opener. The poem talked about the importance of supporting each other through anything and I'm feeling so connected to the other girls in this room tonight. I listen to them read poems about Love and sex and loss and self-harm and survival and passion and stupid mundane thoughts. I felt every emotion they express and I've been in every room they've struggled to be in.
but tonight in this bar there is so much love and community and safety and all the girls in the room are smiling and laughing and kikiing w each other
and idk I'm just feeling so blessed to be able to facilitate such a supportive community in space for the girls that attend this poetry reading! poetry has been important to me for a very long time and the thought of facilitating a trans space her my favorite art form is so important to me !!
Long-Live transcripts !! long live the night owl !! ts power today tomorrow yesterday foreverrrrrr

"Don’t talk in tones so tense and so terse
Cause even friends soften blows when they say things that hurt
And I go too fast, that’s everyone’s note
lead actress of a play called a girl with no hope
And furthermore I can’t pretend like I didn’t know I’d be whatever I pretended to be
Cause Mother Nights a book I tend to yearly re-read
And is feeling better really just forgetting
The feel of the weather when there was no more blood letting
The world is charged with God's grandeur
Baby Jesus sleeping softly in his manger
I’m outside the stable : lonely wanderer
Carrying my heart that’s however large as her
I get on the road but everything I see is dead
I try to smoke weed but it just hurts my head
Sniffin’ poppers until my nostrils bled
Taking every single lover who I can bring in to my bed"
okay I will say it riding the bus home drunk is fine as hell
Chicago asf babyyyy
this city is incredible, so abundant so midwesternurban so peopleful !!!
it's so easy to fill up every second of every day in this city ~
it really feels like I can wander in any direction and experience so many beautiful things #wanderlusst
drag shows DIY zinefests Sunny beach days psychedelic art museums jungle step dancing clubs
junglepussy played trader joes @ the neighborhood street festival and I've seen golden hour every day here
reading Zefyr Lisowski's uncanny valley girls. it's beautiful and haunting and incredibly resonant and heartbreaking for the same reasons
with baby coming in december i know that this might be my last time visiting chicago like this for a while. i know my priorities are changing but im desperately clinging onto the spirit inside of me that craves running
i used to say id move here but sometimes the universe demands u to step into the moment and i am
chicago will always hold a special place in my heart and i dont know if a day will ever come that i dont romanticize this beautiful city
im stretching out in an undignified way on the 49 heading home back to the grey couch in emma's apt
Dissociative Loop at Caesars Palace
happy pride
back from road trip now
crazy experience, got to see so many different queer cultures and so many different places
Big takeaway being that there are trans people everywhere in every city
The trip was fast paced jam-packed days of museums and gay bars and vegan diners juxtaposed with entire days in the car listening to music or podcasts watching the Southwest fly past
as we drove back into St Louis yesterday I started to get emotional realizing that so much change is happening in my life so quickly now
I'm hitting the ground running and I feel like my feet haven't even planted yet!
but St Louis is the greatest city in the world, and just like Carrie Bradshaw I'm going to make love to this city!
I'm going to read poems now at the show
