⊱ ───FAQ───⊰
What is this zine about?
TSFOEP is an free online fan zine dedicated to showcasing the plenty of creative and interesting fan villains within the Poptropica fandom.
Who’s running it?
At the moment, the only moderator is @poptrops. If you are interested in helping out, please dm me @poptrops
What would you need help in?
I would like some extra help in moderation for the discord group as well as someone to help design the cover.
Who can join?
Anyone 13 and over at any art level is allowed to join the zine. Since this is a small fandom, there is no set limit on how many can join.
How can I apply?
You can apply here.
There will also be a link available in the blog description. This won’t be too detailed (it only has 2 questions) and won't require you to submit any art as I accept anyone at any art level. I will ask for your email so I can send the discord link and the check-in forms (discord links will be sent through email after a day or two of your application submission). I'll be accepting artists up until April 25th.
What is the main method of communication?
While I will post updates on the tumblr blog, I will mostly be active on discord and send emails and discord notifications to artists during check-in's.
What are the guidelines for my submission?
Any fan villain is allowed and welcomed, you may also include official characters but your fan-villain must be the focus of it. These villains can come from official islands or your own fan-island, it’s all up to you. Please keep in mind that Poptropica is a family friendly game, as such, your artwork must be safe for work in order for it to be showcased in the zine.
Can I have more than one character?
You can include up to 4 characters, however, they must come from the same island. If it's a larger group or an organization, please select the character(s) you want to represent them.
What are the requirements for my zine submission?
Your main submission must be on a 2894x4093 pixel portrait canvas with a dpi of 300 or 350. You’ll also need to send in a headshot of your character on a 900x900 pixel canvas for the character report. This headshot doesn’t have to be detailed and can just be a simple logo or a cropped portrait of your main piece.
What is the character report?
Along with your art submissions, I also ask for your character's name, their island and a quick overview about them similar to the image below. The overview doesn't have to be too long with a minimum of 100 words and a max of 170.
Your character report and headshot will be formatted and displayed beside your art piece as a report file to help fit with the theme (the final layout is subject to change).
Do I write for multiple reports if I have more than one character?
You only have to do one, if you have more than one character then just write them as a duo or group.
Can I post a preview of my art piece?
Sure! Just make sure to crop out a small portion of it to avoid spoiling the whole thing. After a week of the zine’s release, you can post the full image.
