“back2you”

After months and months, I’m finally able to share my first student film! I’m ridiculously proud of it, I sincerely can’t thank my amazingly talent cast and crew enough for how this ended up turning out. Special salute to my brother Eddie Webb for making all of this possible!

The entire piece is based on the single “Back 2 You” by Jean Deaux! I love that song soooo much, it was on repeat all Summer for me. I can’t even express my excitement, being able to bring it to life.

Bruh this was on point, whenever I bring up that I’m excited about black characters I’m shut down by some of my friends. I can like a character because they are black just like I can like a character that is good and happens to be black!! Black character’s stories do not have to center around them being black and representation in media MATTERS.

Okay does anyone remember Peter Ramsey, the director of Rise of the Guardians (2012)? He was the first black director of a major animated film.

And now he’s directing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse starring Miles Morales, a half-African American and half-Puerto Rican teenager! It must feel amazing for him to direct a movie where the protagonist looks like him.
