Seriously Cute: PINK CRES. in Manila (09.09.2017)

This is an incredibly late post, but with the new direction my blog is going I thought it would be an appropriate start. On September 9th 2017, PINK CRES. came to the Philippines for the ASEAN-Japan Television Festival at Trinoma Mall.   It is a three-piece group led by Miyabi is a former member of the now defunct group, Berryz Koubou which was one of the biggest groups of Hello!Project at that time.   Being a fan of the group, of course I could not hold back my excitement to see the group perform in person.  An opportunity like this is rare, and quite possibly once in a lifetime considering the short lifespan of many of my favorite groups from Japan.

Seriously Cute: MNL48 ... Finally!

Finally, it has been done. It has been more or less two years since I first made my first post on the group.  To be honest, I have no idea how I feel about this now.  The group has been plagued with more controversies than I care to remember from the time the auditions first started. Some easy to let go, others not.  However, I find that it is more of the management's fault that the girls themselves.

Seriously Cute: MNL48 From Top 200 to Top 75 (01.27.2018)

Two years ago, I wrote an entry about my worries for this group.  However, it seems I was worried about the wrong things. 

I won't lie, there has been a lot of negativity going on in the MNL48 "Fandom".  With allegations of cheating (i.e. Boyfriend in MNL48 staff, vote-buying, like-for-like), allegations of management manipulation of votes, and rule-breaking (i.e. Love Ban in particular), the group hasn't even debuted yet and the controversies are piling up.    

It doesn't help that some "fans" of the group have resorted to bullying, making fun of contestants' appearances, English and inexperience.   I have no desire at all to contribute to that.  I think there is enough of that in Facebook.    

That is why this post will focus on potential because there are girls that got in that I have my eye on and are why I can't say I completely give up on the group.

{Fanfiction} You Look Better

Title: You Look Better Author: Tsubame Ongaku aka The Blue and Gold of @bughead-fanfiction  Fandom: Riverdale (TV Show) and BUGHEAD Rating: G Disclaimer: The series belong to CW with characters belonging to its respective artists.

Prompt:  If you could do one with Betty at school wearing Jughead’s clothes (like his flannel, beanie,etc.) that would be the cutest thanks.

Summary:  Clothes maketh a man.  Jughead is a firm believer of this.  He was Jughead and the clothes on his back reminded him that.  However, he knows how to share when the situation calls for it … 

When they were kids, the town had regarded the Cooper Girls were the perfect set of little girls.  With their blonde hair, blue eyes and sweet smiles, they were the envy of parents everywhere since no one believed you’d ever find a sweeter set of girls.  

Betty looked up from below the tree and watched as Little Archie and Juggie climb up.  She could only watch from below because she was wearing her best dress.  She couldn’t imagine her mother would be all too happy if she ruined it before their family dinner with her mother’s boss.  

Archie waved and asked her.  “Aren’t you coming up, Betty?”

Betty looked at him and down to her dress before sadly shaking her head.  

Archie looked sad and confused. He didn’t understand why Betty couldn’t play with them like usual.  Jughead did the same but only for a minute before climbing down.   Taking Betty by the hand, he leads her inside Little Archie’s house.  

Inside Little Archie’s room, he began rummaging inside his bag.  He was sleeping over at Archie’s for the weekend.  When he finished rummaging, he hands her a loose flannel shirt.  It was so big and loose, it would probably look like a tent on her.  

It was also big enough to cover her dress.  “Juggie? Are you sure?  Is this alright? What will you wear?”

He shrugged.  “Let me worry about that.  Now you don’t have to worry about ruining your pretty dress.”  So happy, Betty runs over to give him a tight hug. Without even needing for her to say anything, he knew exactly what she needed.  

She quickly puts it on and it kind of did look like a tent.  “I don’t look too silly, do I?” she asked shyly, not wanting to look silly in front of Little Archie.  

He chuckled, looking at her now wearing his shirt and hair up in a perfect ponytail.  Nothing would ever look bad on Betty.  She would be wearing a sack and she would still be the prettiest girl he knew.  “You look better.”  Then taking her hand, they returned to the yard to play with Little Archie.

Ten years later, Jughead was at the door of Archie’s house looking at an unhappy and soaked Betty Cooper.  

Archie wasn’t home at the moment as he had to leave really early for football extra practice with their next game being only a few days away.  

He quickly looks for a towel and wraps it around her.  He could feel her shivering under his fingers. “Betty, why are you soaked? What happened?”  

“Hey, Juggie.  I’m sorry.  I am really not having the best day.”  She proceeded to tell him about being soaked on her way to school that morning when Mrs. Landon from a few houses away accidentally aimed her water hose at her while watering her plants.  Unfortunately, she had also left her keys at home and the whole house was locked so she couldn’t get in.  Her parents were away on another conference.

“I don’t want to miss school, Juggie,” she told him miserably before she began to sneeze.  

Jughead was rubbing her hair with another towel to help her dry.  He had rarely seen Betty miss school.  Not when she had a fever of 36 degrees nor when she had her first heartbreak. However, it didn’t change the problem that she couldn’t go to school soaked.  “Wait here.”

He left her in the room for a few minutes and returned with some fresh clothes.  They looked freshly washed and ironed.  “These aren’t much but at least you can go to school dry.”  

He handed her his favourite flannel shirt, loose jeans and his belt.  

She smiled and stands to hug him. “Juggie, are you sure?  Isn’t this your favourite?”

“Are you kidding?”  He smirked.  “Anything for my favourite girl.”  

When she leaves to go change, he takes over her spot on the bed.   He felt a little guilty feeling grateful that Archie wasn’t around and that it was him on the door.  This whole situation felt a bit familiar.  He vaguely remembered something like this happening before.

Betty enters the room and despite trying so hard to, seeing her in his clothes really takes his breath away.  She looked really shy and really did her best to make wearing his clothes look like the most natural thing in the world.  She tucked and folded the shirt but the pants were a little bit trickier.  

In his eyes, she has never looked better.  

“How do I look?  I don’t look ridiculous, do I?”

He was amused by that worried look on her face.  Didn’t she realise yet nothing would ever look bad on her?

He gestures for her to take a seat on the bed and as she does so, he kneels and began folding the pantleg. “This is not going to work.”  He retrieves a pair of scissors and began cutting the excess cloth off, much to Betty’s surprise.  

“Juggie, you don’t have to go that far.”

“I want to.”  Not looking up until he finished.  “This should to it.”

It was a last minute outfit, but Betty at least didn’t look out of place.  Betty smiled and not being able to help herself, she bends down and gives him a kiss to show her appreciation and how he made her so happy.  She knew that clothes didn’t come easy to Jughead. Not with his recent family situation. “What would I do without you?”

“Let’s hope that day never happens,” he whispered into her ear.  

Giggling and taking the beanie off his head and then putting it on herself.  “What do you think?  Do I look like a Jughead?”

“You do look better in my clothes but you need a few more years of practice on your sardonic humour.  I acknowledge you have potential though.” Taking the beanie back and putting it on his head, he gives her another quick kiss on the lips and helped her stand.  “Come on, we don’t want to be late for class.”

In school, Betty had to hurry to the teacher’s lounge first to pass an assignment due that morning.

Jughead had to stop by his locker to pick up his books for his next class.  As he was about to leave,  Archie catches up, freshly showered and changed with a confused look on his face. “Hey, Jug!  This is going to sound ridiculous but I thought for sure I just saw Betty wearing a shirt like the one I saw you wear the other day…”

This is one of the rarest moments when I ship a straight couple and can’t resist the impulse to make a quick fanart because DAMN! … I also never thought that I’d ever find myself shipping Betty and Jughead, but the way they’re portrayed in this amazing show that is RIVERDALE, it’s just imposible not to love to see them together! I know Jugg is asexual in the new comics, but you should admit that this dark Jughead is just as amazing! I invite you to watch Riverdale, it’s awesome!
