せんしゅう　は　ブルース　の　そぼ　の　レシピ　つかって　ミートケーキ　を　つくりました。

ミートケーキ　は　コロッケ　の　ような　もの　ですが、ぱんこ　が　ありません。

かんたんな レシピ　な　のに、いま　まで　すこし　めちゃくちゃ　に　して　きました。

うまく　いったので、うれしかった　です。

These days, the number of people learning piano is increasing among busy office workers such as managers and section chiefs.

ちゅうねん　サラリーマン　の　たのしみは　ゴルフが　おおい　だろう　と　思って　いた　が、そう　では　ない　らしい。

I would have thought middle aged salarymen would enjoy playing golf a lot, but it seems that’s not the case.

しゅっちょう　など　で　レッスンに　でられない　とき　は　どう　する　の　か　ピアノ　の　せんせい　に　きいたら　「やすむ　ひと　は　そんな　に　おおく　ない　です　よ」　と　いって　いた。

When he asked the piano teacher what to do when he couldn’t attend lessons during a business trip, he said, “there aren’t many people taking breaks.”

Learning an instrument is also popular in my country. But middle aged salarymen also enjoy golf, video games, and scuba diving.

Golf seems to be very popular among foreign business men working in the Middle East.

しかし、なつ　は　きおん　が　四十　ど　いじょう　に　なります　から、あつい　くに　で　ゴルフ　を　する　のは　なかなか　たいへん　な　よう　です。

However, it seems that playing golf in a hot country is quite difficult because the temperature can reach 40 degrees (Celsius) in the summer.

Bahrain’s Awari Golf Club has no natural grass.

しろい　すな　の　うえ　で　ゴルフ　を　します。

They golf on the white sand.

すな　の　うえ　で　ボール　を　うつ　のは　とても　むずかしい　ので、ゴルフ　を　する　ひと　は　三十センチ　ぐらい　の　じんこう　しば　の　マット　を　もって　コース　を　まわります。

It is very difficult to hit the ball on top of the sand, so golfers go around the course carrying an artificial turf mat about 30 cm wide.

In America, there was a sport called “Hoover ball.” Players threw a very heavy ball over a very tall net. It was popular a long time ago.

ブルースと　わたしは　りょうほう　とも　ワクチンで　きぶん　が　わるく　なったので…

たくさん　アニメ　みました。

リスニング　れんしゅう　に　する　こと　に　しました。じまく　を　よまないで、きいて　みました。

むずかしい　と　思いました　が、たくさん　ことば　を　しって　います。

びっくり　した!

食べもの!

おかね　を　せつやく　したいので、さいきん　は　りょうり　を　して　います。

あたらしいくて　おいしい　レシピ　を　たくさん　見つけました。

オレンジ　が　はいった　キューバ　の　くろまめ　の　スープ　や　ジャガイモ　の　スープ　や　ファヒタ　を　つくりました。

つけもの　で　そぼろどん　も　つくりました　が、前に　その　レシピ　を　つくりました。

キュバー　の　スープ　は　いちばん　おいしかった　です。オレジ　の　かわ　も　食べられます!

二びき　の　ねこ!

きょねん　の　八月　に　ニ　ひき　め　の　猫　を　かって　いらい、おなじ　へや　で　ねむる　こと　が　できませんでした。

せんしゅう　ドア　を　あけて　ねて　みました。

猫　は　だいじょうぶ　だったので、また　おなじ　へや　に　ふとん　を　おきました。

すこし　けんか　します　が、大丈夫　でした。

おなじ　へや　で　ずっと　よく　ねます。

すこし　みじかく　して　ください‼︎!

さいきん　は　りょうり　が　おおい　ので、おいしいくて　おもしろい　レシピ　を　さがしまして　います。

見つかった　レシピ　の　なか　で、キューバ　の　くろまめ　の　スープ　いちばん　好き　でした。

また、うち　を　あまり　でて　いない　こと　に　きづいたので、しゅう　に　ニ、三回　さんぽ　を　はじめました。

金曜日　に　ちかく　の　パンや　に　あるいて　もどった。おいしい　ケーキ　を　かいました。

さいご、猫　が　なかよく　なった　ので、また　おなじ　へや　で　ねる　こと　が　できました!

今　ずっと　よく　ねむれました!

as a welsh person i want you all to accept that W is a vowel because honestly it makes pronouncing acronyms so much easier. wlw becomes ‘ooloo’, wjec becomes ‘oojeck’, love yourselves and stop giving us shit when we tell you welsh has 7 vowels. english actually has 15 vowel sounds but because y’all only use 5 letters you have to rely on a spelling system devised by satan

yeah, we can actually because the spelling is phonetic. meanwhile english folks have placenames like bicester or keighley or beaulieu, which you have to learn the pronunciation for individually because the rules are so inconsistent. i mean people can’t even agree how to pronounce marylebone but sure welsh place names are the weird ones

fun fact: for decades children were beaten for speaking welsh in school, even in areas where english was barely spoken, because the government decided in 1847 that the language made people lazy and immoral

fun fact: welsh orthography is actually easy to read if you take your head out of your arse for one minute and learn our alphabet - just like french, or spanish, or korean, because surprise! languages use different spelling systems that are not based on english. novel, i know - and in the 18th century, travelling schools were able to teach people to read and write welsh in a matter of months, so that wales enjoyed a literate majority, a rare thing in europe at the time

fun fact: the english have been taking the piss out of welsh for years, just like they’ve been doing for irish, and scots gaelic, and cornish, and british sign language, and a hundred and one other languages, because evidently the fact that the whole world isn’t anglophone and monocultured and Still Part Of The Empire is a problem, and something that needs to be corrected

the thing people need to get through their heads is what the original statement is:

W is a vowel, and LL and FF are single letters not two Ls or two Fs. Saying LL is two letters is as dumb as saying W is two letters just because it looks like two Vs.

We have a different alphabet, it just looks a lot like the english one.

Welsh is, in addition, one of the oldest surviving indo-European languages. It dates back as far as 4,000 years and is one of the few surviving Celtic languages.

In English, y is sometimes a vowel and sometimes not. This makes far less sense than “w is a vowel,” because the letter belongs to one thing.

In Spanish, l is a consonant and ll is a different consonant and a single letter. This is exactly the same as Welsh using ll as a single letter.

The fact these are seen as strange even though there’s very, very simple parallels everyone who speaks two of the most common languages in the world, with a very very high overlap between casual phrase usages, is entirely propaganda meant to destroy people’s interests in relearning their culture as it’s being systematically repressed and destroyed. And it’s working. Because we can’t be bothered to think, “w is a vowel, just like y except it’s always”.

I was going to add this in the tags, but actually I won’t.

The violent suppression of Welsh in schools lasted until about the 70s, by which time it had done so much cultural damage that we’re still unpicking it literally here on tumblr dot com in 2019.  If you’ve ever laughed at Welsh for how it looks or sounds, or whether or not its native speakers can actually speak it, you’re literally participating in that damage splash zone. 

The specific method for suppressing Welsh in schools was a wooden sign called a “Welsh Not”, used in the 18th - 20th centuries, until about the 1940s.  If a child was heard speaking Welsh (or reported to a teacher for speaking Welsh by another child) then they would wear this sign around their neck, humiliating them for speaking their native language.  This sign would be transferred from them if another child was heard (or reported for) speaking Welsh.  At the end of the day, the child wearing the Welsh Not was beaten.  This, as you can imagine, fosters an environment of shame and isolation, and destroys any natural solidarity between Welsh children in schools as it literally encourages them to turn on each other to avoid corporal punishment.

(Fun “imperialism is awful” fact, this method was so effective that Japan adopted it (in the form of a “dialect card”) in order to violently suppress the Ryukyuan languages, which has left most of them critically endangered.)

二月　の　よさん　じっけん

(The February Budget Experiment)

二月じゅうに　ひつよな　もの　だけ　を　かって　みました。

(During February, I will buy only the necessities and see what happens)

まい月　たくさん　かう　こと　に　きづきまして、ほんとに　ひつよ　か　と　おもって　いました。

(Because I noticed we buy many things every month, I wondered if we really needed them.)

も　もっと　せつやく　できる　か　どう　か　見たかったん　です。

だから　今　あまり　ネットで　かいもの　しません。あまり　テイクアウト　も　ありません。

せんしゅう　は　。。。

わたし　も　だんがい　さいばん　を　みました。

見て　いる　だけ　で　まだ　つかれて　います。

しらなかった　こと　が　たくさん　あったので、たくさん　しらべて　しまいました。

それ　いがい、アニメ　で　見た　りょうり　を　つくりました。

アニメ　の　なまえ　は　ゆる　キャンプ　です。キャンプ　を　たのしむ　じょし　こうこうせい　に　ついて　です。

とても　リラックス　できる　から、よく　見ます。

ある　エピソード　では、キャンプファヤー　で　肉まん　を　やきました。

キャンプファヤー　が　なかったので、フライパン　を　つかいました。

とにかく　おいしいかった　です。

そとがわ　は　プレッツェル　の　よう　でした　が、中は　ふつう　でした。

アニメ　で　見る　食べもの　を　たくさん　つくって　います。

つぎは　きりたんぽ　を　つくろう　と　おもって　います。ゆる　キャンプ　で　も　みました。

きりたんぽ　は　ごはん　を　ぼう　に　まいて、やきます。もちやき　や　おにぎりやき　の　ような　もの　だ　と　よみました。

やく　一年　前に、ヤンキー　キャンドル　を　こわれてしまいました。

ともだち　が　うち　に　きて　いた　ので、そうじ　を　して　いました。

そうじ　を　ほとんど　おわったら、かおり　の　キャンドル　 に　ひ　を　つけて、テブル　の　まんなか　に　おきました。

テブル は　じっさい　には　二つ　の　てブル　だったんです。

ならんだら、大きな　テブル　を　つくりました が、ながく　おきたかったん　です。

テブル　を　うごいた　とき、キャンドル　が　おちました。

ヤンキー　キャンドル　は　グラスのびん　に　はいって　いる　ので、こわれてしまいました。

ざんねん　です。

Michaelsで　二年間　はたらきました。まんせい　てき　な　いたみ　が　ある ので、やめました。

日曜日は　さいご　ひ　でした。

今は　もっと　じかん　が　あリます。

かみ　を　ピンクに　そめました。

うちは　もっと　テレビ　を　みて　いました。

二つ　の　あたらしい　テレビ　シリーズ　を　み　はじめました。

えいが　「The Old Guard」　も　みました。

わたしは　でんき　か　ねつ　パッド　を　　かいました。いたみ　に　は　すばらしい　です。

ルーは　七年間、もう　インキーは　五か月間　かって　います。

なかよく　して　もらいたい　です　ね。さいきん　あまり　けんか　しません。

でも　今は　しょくじ　を　する　とき　に、インキー　が　ちかく　に　います。

てブルに　とびのって、食べもの　を　とって、ニャーと　なきます。

とても　かわいい　が、たいへん　です　ね。

どう　やって　とめますか？
