What McCree didn’t expect was some samurai-lookin’ guy to just come dashing in and putting a decently large gash in the monster. The only katana-user that he’s ever interacted with before was Genji, and he hasn’t really talked to him since the Blackwatch days.
Letting out a long whistle, “Well, howdy there. Thanks for savin’ my ass there.”
“And I’m doin’ fine, not scratches or nothin’. And the name’s McCree, not Stranger.” McCree tipped his hat, a tick that he formed young.
McCree brought his attention back to the monster, who was slowly recovering from the sudden attack, and it wasn’t looking too happy about said attack. The growl that was coming out of the beast was also a sign that it was, frankly, pissed off.
Reloading Peacekeeper, “Well, guess ya pissed it off,” turning towards the guy, “and it looks like we’re stuck fightin’ this together, huh?”
Usually McCree preferred to work solo, but he knew his limits, and thanks to the Cat, his limits are way lower. And sadly, that meant less solo work for him.
The creature roared and lunged at him and his new partner, and its teeth were barred and some foam was even forming a little. Yikes. This boy was turning ugly.
“I would recommend dodgin’!”
McCree rolled to the right, and barely dodged the beast, and McCree quickly got out Peacekeeper and let out three quick shots, but only two hit, and only one did any damage that he could see.
“Dammit!” McCree then looked at the samurai, “My gun’s not doin’ much, we’re gonna have to rely on your sword!”
It hurt his pride a little to rely on some random samurai because Peacekeeper was changed, but it was their best chance right now.
A gun. The other’s weapon of choice was a common one he assumes. He had yet to find anyone else who wielded a katana in battle. Of course, he shouldn’t be actively looking for situations where he has to draw his blade, but here in the forest it helped him stay sharp. He glances towards the other with a calm smile as he looks back at the monstrous enemy.
“My name is Mikazuki. It is nice to meet you.” He replies just as the beast’s claws swipe out at him and his companion--he quickly ducks and in the same movement draws his sword upwards, slicing the arm deep enough to feel bone. It was softer than the revisionists’ armor, it was a simple task for his blade to cut through deep.
Gunshots went off, and for a moment he pictures another blade, happily waving his gun around during the battles. It was nostalgic in a way, but he knows better than to let feelings overtake you in battle. The creature roars again in pain, from the other’s inflicted gunshots and the deadly gash he left in its arm as he pulls his blade out of its flesh.
A thinking enemy would have retreated, but as one driven by instinct and rage it lunges for the other man, good arm flailing wildly. Mikazuki moves quickly, his blade once again sinking into the monster’s back, effectively paralyzing it as he feels the spine being almost severed by his blade. It roars again in pain, turning to face the tachi as he retracts his blade and swerves gracefully to the side. He feels the air of the other’s grand movement as its claws seem to whistle through the air--
“If you have an extra bullet, one in the head should be enough.”
