TTC ridership has been steadily increasing while government funding levels have not kept pace. The Province used to contribute about half of TTC's operating funds, but no longer does -- leading to delays, overcrowding, and poor service. Tired of being SARDINED on your TTC commute? Sick of being squished onto overcrowded vehicles? Ready to do something about it? Pull out your cellphone, TAKE A PICTURE, and share it. Note the location, time, and date and tag it as #TTCsardines. Send it to us via tumblr, facebook, twitter, or email. TTCriders will post online #TTCsardines photos taken by YOU and other transit users showing crowding on every part of the system, including buses, streetcars, the subway, and the Scarborough RT. One photo will be selected as the image for our TTCriders Sardine Award, that we will present to a key decision maker sometime in March. Entries accepted until March 5, 2014. www.TTCriders.ca
