On a serious note, what they (the mastermind and co.) did to Song Mo is truly insidious. They killed his uncle and mother and when he tried to gather evidence for truth he was pushed back by the imperial edicts which would obviously make a person harbour anger in their heart. Then Song Yichun poisoned him with the Poison of Hatred which is feeding on his anger and killing him. These people are binding him in a vicious cycle of anger which ultimately harms only himself and the people he loves.

Also, since the poison is "very rare" it clearly points towards the royal family being behind it all because Song Yichun couldn't have obtained this rare poison on his own. I don't know why the Emperor didn't do this math.
