One of the top 10 bilingual moments of all time has to be when I forgot the icelandic word for "bottle opener" so I walked into a room holding a bottle of wine in one hand and asked my group of friends "Eruð þið með bottle opener?" ("Do you have a bottle opener?") except they all heard "Eruð þið með botnlanga?" ("Do you have an appendix?") and it led to approximately this conversation:

The lights go dark around the store and a very distorted track of Hotel California plays. There's movement along the shelves and aisles. The speakers croak out LEAVE. LEAVE. LEAVE. As the light above them flashes at a disorienting speed.
They seriously need to get more cds. Would it kill them to get some Drowning Pool or something???

Orlando holds his Cool Anime Pose for a few moments, awkwardly. “Ah, I see! I’ve made a few awkward Social Faux Pas in this conversation. ...faux pai? Faux pases? Whatever - let’s start over. Hi! My name is Orlando Kincaid! I come in peace! Oh, right.” He slowly retrieves his hammer and places it gently on the ground behind him, pushing it away with his foot. “It’s nice to meet you! I apologize for the, erm, unwanted intrusion, but curiosity very occasionally likes to kill this particular cat!”
Ichiro glances back and forth, not sure what to say again. “I, uh, hope I didn’t make too much work for you. As the doctor. I dunno if anyone got, uh, really hurt.”
He’s trying to conceal a sort of guilty expression and doing a bad job.
"Please forgive Cabinet Man - he is in charge of security and it was only his duty. I am Papa Hermit - the leader of this little community." He offers a very small bean hand to shake.
"Well the plastic of the security team is pretty sturdy. I'd just have to do some tire and suspension inspections."
“Oh, yeah, don’t worry about that a bit!” Orlando shakes Papa Hermit’s hand with his index finger and thumb. VERY CAREFULLY shakes his hand. “It’s like I always say - what’s a little violence between friends? If it makes you feel any better, Mr. Man - hilarious coincidence, by the way, I know a guy also called that back home - if it were literally anybody except me, it probably would’ve worked, so, good job! I’ve been told numerous times I’m “too stubborn for my own good” and “really should learn to let things go”. Y’know, whatever that means!”
I’m going to go ahead and say that Ichiro and Minnie continue their very awkward conversation offscreen for a while because I can’t imagine it’s exceptionally interesting, unless you have another idea?

Minnie may not be silent, but they were super watching her. Orlando shushes Ichiro again when he’s about to say something. Let this play out, he thinks.
The Car Squad provides a welcome distraction - neither of them even have to communicate to know what the plan is there. Ichiro draws a sword from his Stand’s back and plunges it into the ground in the path of the wire, hopefully snapping it.
Ichiro is distracted dealing with that, but Orlando is still focused on pretending he’s watching out for projectiles. He sees Minnie very obviously summon a Stand, and his eyes widen in surprise as he’s smacked in the face with two more bowling balls.
As he falls - again - Chumbawamba appears. It’s about twice Minnie’s height currently, and stares down at her.
If the lion could sweat, they’d be sweating bullets as the stand loomed over them. Just keep still. Just play dead. Just wait....
The cutting wire does snap against the sword, causing the two other car-toys to spin out at the unexpected break.
“What else do we have!?” “All we have left is knocking over shelves and that could take months to rebuild, sir!” “Ugh!!!”
Against his orders, he turns on the mic on the PA.
“GET THE FRAG OUT!” He barks at the humans through more layers of distortion. “DON’T YOU WATCH HORROR MOVIES!? TAKE A HIKE!!!”
“oh dear...” Hermit mutters in the vents with the other toys.
If only someone had said that over the intercom before Orlando had gotten hit in the face with cash registers! Then he’d have something cool to say! Instead, he’s trying to pull himself off the ground again.
Ichiro, for his part, is trying to make the comment in his friend’s place, but can’t think of anything quirky or clever to say. He’s not entirely sure why Orlando kept insisting on staying and fighting, to be honest!
Chumbawamba looks down at the lion, its body wriggling and its stinger waving back and forth. It very rarely has the chance to act without its user’s input, and, after a moment or two of consideration, it reaches out a three-fingered hand, expressionless, and places Minnie on its back like it’s a horse. The metal worm-thing then begins wriggling at a great speed - slow enough for Minnie to stay on top, but fast enough that Ichiro can’t stop it from escaping further into the store. Wow!! What a fun new place to explore!!
Oh. Oh none of the toys involved were expecting to be playing horsey. Shit.
Minnie is screaming internally while Cabby is screaming externally, now with the mic off.
To be fair, Ichiro and Orlando weren’t expecting that, either. The worm is officially off the string.
Orlando peels himself off the ground again, shaking a little. What the hell? Normally, he can shake off injuries like this like nothing, but for some reason, these hurt a lot.
Whatever, though. He calls out, in the midst of Cabby’s screams, “I KNEW IT! HA HA! I KNEW YOU WEREN’T AUTOMATIC!”
Well, okay, that’s a bit of a bluff, but he was right about how the contents of this store would be interesting. Inanimate objects with Stands? He’d never heard of such a thing! ...at least, not that he can remember.
Chumbawamba is wriggling from aisle to aisle, its head rotating every so often to make sure Minnie is still on board. It’s actually more used to being used as a vehicle than you would expect - though the g-force is certainly present, it’s surprisingly stable - Minnie doesn’t have to fight so much to stay on. Regardless, the worm is on the lookout for more new friends!! Maybe some of those car guys? If it can’t find any, it starts squirming up shelves towards the ceiling tile Minnie fell out of.
"Sorry..." Minnie squeaks for just the worm to hear before Beach Bunny emerges. It grabs the worm and swiftly rolls it into a ball - it doesn't do any damage, but it certainly feels weird to have your stand condensed into a baseball. BB throws that them too before Minnie themselves rolls up and skids around, joining the car crews. More cars are arriving with old shards of glass and chunks of pallets sticking from them like lances.
Damn!!! DAMN!!! Betrayal!!! Somehow, Chumbawamba is not unused to this, though. It begins homing back in on its user, albeit very slowly.
Orlando is shouting more, “COME ON! YOU HAD SOME CHOICE WORDS FOR ME EARLIER, EH, TOY STORE GHOST? WHAT’S WRONG?”
Ichiro looks back at Orlando. Generally, he’s not really sure how he feels about this whole situation, except that he’s getting a little tired of being attacked.
He looks down at the cars with vague disdain. His Stand, ever large and looming, quickly rearranges his protective bubble into a layer of sludge across the ground - supernaturally sticky. If they run into it, there’s no getting out unless Ichiro says so. For good measure, he stretches some of it between the shelves - a flimsier barrier, but it might catch a few if they try to ramp off of each other.
The cars and the little lion plush stick.
Then the lion starts crying. Sure it can't shed tears, but it's crying.
"GET OUT - YOU'RE NOT GETTING OUR PARTS!" Cabby shouts over coms. "HAVEN'T YOU DONE ENOUGH!?"
More nerf darts fire and a basketball is launched via slingshot.
Ichiro’s barrier catches a few of the darts, at least. Nothing for it - Supermassive Black Hole shields the two of them with its huge blades to deflect the rest. The basketball shoots through the thin barrier and Orlando whips out Shatterstar - it bounces off the metal head of the hammer harmlessly.
“IF I WANTED YOUR PARTS, I WOULD’VE JUST TAKEN THEM!!” he shouts. Now he’s getting annoyed. Not “give up” annoyed, but annoyed. “WHAT’S SO HARD TO BELIEVE ABOUT ME JUST WANTING TO TALK??? I OPENED WITH THAT!” He heaves a breath, “THIS LOOKED LIKE AN ABANDONED BUILDING!! AT THIS POINT, YOU’RE THE PROVOCATEUR, NOT US!!”
Ichiro winces, both from almost getting hit with nail-darts and from watching Minnie cry. The sludge recedes from the lion plush, giving her a tiny linoleum island to stand on.
"IT LOOKS ABANDONED FOR A REASON! NOW G-"
"Cabby, call them off."
"WH-Sir!? We've had too much contact with these humans already!"
"Um..."
Hermit points out that the microphone was on.
Orlando flourishes with his hammer, twirling it around and planting it down on the ground. He leans on it, waiting to see what happens, looking vaguely exhausted.
Supermassive Black Hole’s sludge starts to wriggle, pulling away just slightly from the trapped toys. They could drive away now, if they wanted - Minnie too. Ichiro’s still not sure how to feel about all of this, but he’s kind of proud he got to use his Stand in the situation it’s specialized for!
"They said they were homless."
"They could also rip us all to pieces faster than a normal human! They have Those too!"
"Uh...Cabby? Papa? The mic is on..." Minnie squeaks from the floor.
The audio cuts quickly and all the toys clearly have no idea what to do now...
Yeah, okay, Ichiro is gonna make the first move. He takes a single step forward and his sludge barrier begins to withdraw, sucked back into the Supermassive Black Hole before the Stand finally vanishes. He squats down in front of Minnie.
“Hi, um,” he starts. “My name is Ichiro. I’m, uh, sorry I made you cry.”
Orlando glances around up at the ceiling, wondering where the intercom toys could be, but doesn’t move.
Well if they’re using the store PA system and using the cameras, they’re probably in the main office of the toy store.
“I-i was scared you’d rip me open...” She mumbles, sniffling despite having no dribble to sniff up.
The security car toys transform into their little robot modes, armed with the same bits of junk.
“Doctor, are you okay?” The cars address her. She nods.
Huh. The lion is a doctor?
Ichiro pauses. “It’s okay. I’d probably be scared of me, too.” That’s maybe more ominous than he intended. “I, uh, try to be responsible with my powers.”
He looks around at the rest of the toys, and sits down criss-cross. This is... yeah, this is still awkward. “Well, I don’t think anyone got hurt besides Orlando, so it’s probably fine. He’s basically made of rubber.”
Orlando goes to scoop up his ball worm off the floor before looking for the main office. Ichiro doesn’t seem to notice he’s left.
Inside the office, Cabby and Hermit are having a one sided argument - that being that Cabby is the only one really yelling.
“BUT THEY SNAPPED THE CUTTING WIRE!” “It was self defense.” “AND THE WORM!?” “Salem works in mysterious ways...” “BUT THE-WHY ARE YOU IN HERE!?” Cabby finally notices the human in the office.
Meanwhile, in the sit circle, Minnie squishes her paws together. “I didn’t wanna kill him...just make him leave...I’ve never had to fight a human before - I only fought raccoons...”
Orlando points a finger forward in a certified Cool Anime Pose. “So, the ghosts reveal themselves! Hail and well met!” He pauses for a moment to think about how to actually answer the question, “...Look, I just like getting to meet new and interesting people! I’ve never met an inanimate object before! C’mon! It’s clear we have some important information to exchange - it seems like you need someone to bring you in the loop about Stands!”
Ichiro smiles oddly cheerfully at Minnie for someone who had just tried to kill him, “It’s okay. You did a great job. Me and Orlando are really strong, but if it had been just one of us, we probably would’ve lost.”

“GET THE FRAG OUT!” He barks at the humans through more layers of distortion. “DON’T YOU WATCH HORROR MOVIES!? TAKE A HIKE!!!”
“oh dear...” Hermit mutters in the vents with the other toys.
If only someone had said that over the intercom before Orlando had gotten hit in the face with cash registers! Then he’d have something cool to say! Instead, he’s trying to pull himself off the ground again.
Ichiro, for his part, is trying to make the comment in his friend’s place, but can’t think of anything quirky or clever to say. He’s not entirely sure why Orlando kept insisting on staying and fighting, to be honest!
Chumbawamba looks down at the lion, its body wriggling and its stinger waving back and forth. It very rarely has the chance to act without its user’s input, and, after a moment or two of consideration, it reaches out a three-fingered hand, expressionless, and places Minnie on its back like it’s a horse. The metal worm-thing then begins wriggling at a great speed - slow enough for Minnie to stay on top, but fast enough that Ichiro can’t stop it from escaping further into the store. Wow!! What a fun new place to explore!!
Oh. Oh none of the toys involved were expecting to be playing horsey. Shit.
Minnie is screaming internally while Cabby is screaming externally, now with the mic off.
To be fair, Ichiro and Orlando weren’t expecting that, either. The worm is officially off the string.

It grabs the worm and swiftly rolls it into a ball - it doesn't do any damage, but it certainly feels weird to have your stand condensed into a baseball. BB throws that them too before Minnie themselves rolls up and skids around, joining the car crews. More cars are arriving with old shards of glass and chunks of pallets sticking from them like lances.

He looks down at the cars with vague disdain. His Stand, ever large and looming, quickly rearranges his protective bubble into a layer of sludge across the ground - supernaturally sticky. If they run into it, there’s no getting out unless Ichiro says so. For good measure, he stretches some of it between the shelves - a flimsier barrier, but it might catch a few if they try to ramp off of each other.

Then the lion starts crying. Sure it can't shed tears, but it's crying.
"GET OUT - YOU'RE NOT GETTING OUR PARTS!" Cabby shouts over coms. "HAVEN'T YOU DONE ENOUGH!?"
More nerf darts fire and a basketball is launched via slingshot.
Ichiro’s barrier catches a few of the darts, at least. Nothing for it - Supermassive Black Hole shields the two of them with its huge blades to deflect the rest. The basketball shoots through the thin barrier and Orlando whips out Shatterstar - it bounces off the metal head of the hammer harmlessly.
“IF I WANTED YOUR PARTS, I WOULD’VE JUST TAKEN THEM!!” he shouts. Now he’s getting annoyed. Not “give up” annoyed, but annoyed. “WHAT’S SO HARD TO BELIEVE ABOUT ME JUST WANTING TO TALK??? I OPENED WITH THAT!” He heaves a breath, “THIS LOOKED LIKE AN ABANDONED BUILDING!! AT THIS POINT, YOU’RE THE PROVOCATEUR, NOT US!!”

The lights go dark around the store and a very distorted track of Hotel California plays. There's movement along the shelves and aisles. The speakers croak out LEAVE. LEAVE. LEAVE. As the light above them flashes at a disorienting speed.
They seriously need to get more cds. Would it kill them to get some Drowning Pool or something???

The Car Squad provides a welcome distraction - neither of them even have to communicate to know what the plan is there. Ichiro draws a sword from his Stand’s back and plunges it into the ground in the path of the wire, hopefully snapping it.
Ichiro is distracted dealing with that, but Orlando is still focused on pretending he’s watching out for projectiles. He sees Minnie very obviously summon a Stand, and his eyes widen in surprise as he’s smacked in the face with two more bowling balls.
