There’s this area in Lekki (a city in Nigeria) that has a toll gate. That was recently the site of a protest.

A curfew has been put in place in Nigeria, but protestors have been protesting anyway (as they should).

Protestors in Lekki (a city in Nigeria) were just sitting down. They were being peaceful. They were linking arms and saying “End Sars”

(Sars has been disbanded, but they’re just gonna replace it with yet ANOTHER squad of corrupt military men. The government is incompetent and corrupt. The protestors have demands. You can read about it here) 

The military showed up with their big guns and stuff. Then they started shooting. Shooting recklessly and indiscriminately. People got shot, people died.

This was yesterday.

The bloodshed was so bad, even hospitals in Nigeria that are known for scamming patients and telling them they should pay first are saying “we have a surgeon open here, bring in your wounded.” 

They are/were sending ambulances to the Lekki toll gate and the military tried to stop them.

It’s terrible, and we need to start spreading awareness. #EndSars
