Life is getting better day by day.
God Was With Joseph
Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold as a slave, falsely accused, imprisoned, and forgotten. Yet in the middle of every hardship, the Bible keeps reminding us of one unchanging truth:
The Lord was with Joseph.
The phrase “the LORD was with Joseph” appears four times in Genesis 39:
* Genesis 39:2 – “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man…”
* Genesis 39:3 – “And his master saw that the LORD was with him…”
* Genesis 39:21 – “But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy…”
* Genesis 39:23 – “The keeper of the prison… saw not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him…”
The repetition is intentional. God wants us to see that Joseph’s circumstances changed, but God’s presence never did.
Joseph experienced:
* Rejection by his family.
* Slavery in a foreign land.
* False accusations.
* Years of imprisonment.
* Long seasons of waiting.
Yet not once does Scripture say the Lord abandoned him.
Eventually, what God had promised came to pass. Joseph was raised from prison to become governor of Egypt, preserving countless lives during famine.
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good…”
— Genesis 50:20 (KJV)
