Wow now using foreign words is appropriating a culture? Someone shoulda told me that before i decided to become a translator. Srsly tho, nobody can claim property of their language, it’s not an object. I learned many languages by playing around and making mistakes, because nobody will learn the differences between -yah, -ah and -i without trial and error. And if you think that watching dramas and listening to kpop isnt a good way to start taking interest in the korean culture then i’ve got some news for ya: if it werent for music and tv shows and such, half of the tourism industry (not even only in korea)would go to shit. So, summing up, please review your priorities and care about actual issues, not just people having a good time saying harmless words.

I’m so glad that people understand that this post is wrong. It isn’t wrong to want to be cultured and learn about new things, speak different languages, etc. If it makes you happy, do it. And most Koreans I know appreciate that westerners like their culture, not get annoyed by it. Basically, you’re trying to be selfish with your culture and that’s wrong. I’m half korean and I thinks it’s great that people want to learn about our culture and speak our language and wish more people would. And you’re dumb if you think otherwise.

There's a difference between appreciating and enjoying aspects of other cultures and appropriating in a demeaning way.. Yeah, this list has to learn to distinguish the two..
