Okay, this can def be true for some peeps, but what about those of us who've been into it literally our whole lives? Cuz yeah, some shitty things happened to me *later* in life, but my various tum-related attractions have existed for as far back as I can remember. Even when I was like, 3, I had a fascination with round bellies and the digestive process. I'd put stuffed animals and pillows under my shirt, and get various toys to "eat" each other. Any tv show/movie where it happened immediately caught my attention not because they *made* me interested but because I was *already* interested and I sought out things that would indulge that interest.

When puberty hit, these interests took on a sexual facet, since I always associated them with good feelings. And then as I matured emotionally, they took on emotional aspects. Personally, it feels way less like a coping mechanism and a lot more like a childhood fascination that, for whatever reason, "grew up" with me. It didn't arise brand-new in response to a need. Rather, to me, it's always been very clear that it was a pre-existing interest that adapted to my sexuality and emotional needs *after* they developed, like any part of one's psyche and personality typically would.

Similarly, I definitely do sometimes use kinks as a comfort device, but again, they didn't arise as a response to needing comfort. They were already there, and since I had positive connections to them, I fall back on them as a source of good feels. Sorta like how bad feels don't *make* you enjoy ice cream, or your favourite show, or chatting with your friends, or all of them together. Chances are you already like them for some other reason, and the positivity they provide causes you to indulge in them when you're feeling negative because it's a trusted source of good vibes.

This is also why I've never really felt the shame associated with it that a lot of people do. I mostly never thought about it like that because for as long as I can remember, being into vore and stuffing has felt as natural/instinctive to me as anything vanilla.
