An estimated 100 African elephants are killed a day by poachers seeking ivory, meat and body parts, leaving only 400,000 of these beautiful creatures remaining. They could be mostly extinct by the end of the next decade if we don’t do something. We need stronger protection policies for these animals on the government level. If you plan on going to see an elephant, it’s important to consider if it’s ethical. Make sure you research ahead of time. Stay away from anywhere that capture animals from the wild or provide unhealthy living conditions. Avoid riding elephants and souvenirs made from animals, such as ivory products. No one wants to imagine a world without elephants, but it’s a definite possibility unless we make a global effort to preserve them
