If we did, the cards would be Ir relevant. : )

It seems like whenever you answer a complaint about how new things change the game's feel, your answer is some form of "don't play that stuff/ power down your deck". I think this is either unawareness or dismissive of the core fantasy for many players of making yourself as strong as can be without losing the fun. Itās hugely counterintuitive to many of us to intentionally nerf our decks. It's also dismissive of people who play with strangers to say "just don't play it", because someone will.
The point I keep making is that you, the player, have control over the kind of experience you encounter when playing. If you enjoy min/maxing your deck, go for it. Thereās nothing wrong with being as competitive as possible *if* thatās what makes the game fun for you.
Iām just pointing out that isnāt what the game has to be. If your goal is more about enjoying the experience than getting the highest win percentage, raising your variance will most likely increase your chance of doing that. The game is often more fun for a casual player if each game doesnāt always play out the same.
Also, some players enjoy the hunt of finding the optimal card for each slot while it stresses others out. Iām trying to empower players to understand what makes the game fun for them and make decisions that lead to a better play experience.
Iām not dismissing that way you want to play; Iām just pointing out that might not be the way someone else wants to play.
Exactly my thoughts, Maro. In fact, thatās how I play: build a now-virtual deck I like and only change it when I feel thereās a better card for it. Winning in a tournament is/was a bonus for me.
Iām wondering if youāll ever post your speed paints again? I used to love when you did that! š
Aww thanks! I feel like Iām so super OCD so I keep tweaking and fixing a drawing and itās hard for me to stop, hence they lose their āspeed painā status :) sometimes I have a tendency to overdue stuff or get fixated on a detail for far too long... but Iāll try to post some wips of different stages!
You aināt the only one, Spec. I got fixated on the languages during the last tabletop campaign I ran.
Why are WUBR iconic creatures guaranteed flying, but Hydras aren't guaranteed trample? It seems a little unfair especially because hydras have the least variation in mechanical abilities
Flying works differently than most other keywords as we always make sure that creatures that appears to fly fly, as players assume as such. Trample is not assumed in the same way. I see the issue as reversed. The fact that certain iconics have to fly limits our ability to make each feel different. Iāll also note that not all Demons have to fly.
Please correct me if Iām incorrect, MaRo. But, essentially, it boils down to creatures with wings, such as western dragons, flying. That, in turn, precludes flightless birds, such as ostriches and penguins, without SUBSTANTIAL justification and, even then, theyād be an EXTREMELY hard sell.

Another commission of oc Róis! She does Irish step dance!

To be exact, sheās wearing her schoolās, Black Rose Studio, dress.
Heyo, sketch commission slots open again! I do originals, fanart, even nsfw stuff; this will be one character only, though. 10$ for pencils, 15$ for digital color overlay. An extra 5$ if you want a physical copy(5x7print) mailed to you. PM me for questions!
So. The thing is Iāve been off work for a couple of weeks because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I work in a car factory. I was supposed to go back to work next week, but they extended the shutdown again, and Iām not getting paid for any days next week. Iām not sure what my pay compensation will be if weāre shutdown longer⦠Iām still waiting on news from from my employer. I know money is probably tight for a lot of people, but anything would help right now; itāll also give me something fun to do! Thanks! 2 AprĀ ā20 ~ Mad
Update: I wonāt be going back to work until after May 1st, at least. And Iām officially not getting paid as of this week. Iām going to have to file for unemployment, but commissions will really help with the buffer.
Also, if you want a second character just ask in a PM. If commissions are slow I will definitely do it, but the price will double; 20$ for two characters no color, 30$ two characters with color, still just an extra 5$ for a physical print.

So glad that Iāve gotten a few at least! Please share and keep helping out?

Great artist! Go commission her!
Is Colossification worthy to be a rare card? I'm sorry to be unpolite but it just does something boring.
Your āboringā is someone elseās āexcitingā. You canāt see why others might not be excited by +20/+20?
Mmm... yummy! Timmy loves HUGE MONSTERS. Thatās all.
While I do really like the complexity of Ikoria, I personally feel that the mechanics of the set are just too unfriendly to new players. I think arena can help the influx of new players learn the mechanics correctly, but Iām not sure I would like to see a set this complex in standard anytime soon.
Thatās what weāre testing. Note we have other products that are more geared towards new players.
Such as the Core sets, which are yearly now.
See you messed up on your podcast and now I want a Flogg, brother of Squee card
I knew that as soon as I said it.
And, Iām a greedy type. Gimme all of Squeeās siblings because I doubt theyāre the only two kids in the family.
Wow Mark, deep dish is great and all but not really pizza.
Just because something isnāt the way you like it doesnāt mean it isnāt that thing for other people.
Hawaiian Pizza is best pizza. Thatās all.
This is a decidedly unfriendly reminder that I donāt want you following me or liking/reblogging my posts if you are a Trump supporter, neo-Confederate, TERF, neo-Nazi, or a supporter of any other sort of white supremacist or fascist movement. Get the fuck out. I donāt want you here.
This is fucking bullshit. Iāll go through these one at a time in no particular order.
Trans-exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF) (not me, Iām gender fluid): Horrid Neo-Confederate (not me): Horrid Neo-Nazi (not me): Horrid White supremacist (not me): Horrid Fascist (not me): Horrid Trump supporter (me): Few bad, most not
On Trump being a āwhite supremacist,ā the only reason thereās any debate about border security is Trump wants it. Go back far enough and youāll find Democrats, including Obama, commenting in favor of border security.
Was Arcane Signet always intended for ELD? I find a card referencing commander, specifically, an odd fit for a Standard-legal set. Of course, I left paper before the integration initiative.
If we want to make cards specifically for Brawl, the Brawl decks are the only place to make them.
Was congestion the only reason Yeva missed WAR? It seemed odd to me that she and Krenko weren't both in the set because we'd only seen them in the same set before.
We needed room for a bear lord. : )
For the people complaining that oketra doesn't have reach: there are 16 white archers in all of Magic's history. The only four to have reach are from Portal, Tempest, homelands and vision. The most recent reprint was 7th edition. There are people old enough to legally drive in the US who were not even born the last time a white Archer had reach. It would be inconsistent with how white archers have been mechanically represented for over a decade to give Oketra reach because she uses a bow
A fine point.
Itās an INVALID point because Poison-Tip Archer from M19 would LOVE a word with you on the subject.
hey! I'm just learning how to play and I'm really curious about the lore but I'm not sure where to start learning more about this part of the franchise. do you have any recommendations?
Suggestions?

What are the chances of full text, no art lands?
Is that something people actually want?
First we gotta clarify what is meant by this because the comments are all over the place. When I think full text land, I think something like :
But a number of people are talking about Pokemon energy cards.
So the Magic equivalent to that would be a Forest with nothing but a big ole green mana symbol dead center.
Depending on the specific text treatment of that first example, I could possible get behind it. Someone suggested calligraphy and that could look really cool I think.
I know I can get behind the second suggestion of just a big mana symbol.
All-text lands would be the first example reformatted without references to interrupts, mana pools, and mana sources as a watermark/mana symbol is art. Thus, HELL NO, 10,000 times.
