it turns out that the phantom WAS Bobby Fulbright all along. the storyline looks like it’s about to delve into Fulbright’s backstory, then somehow turns into more backstory for Apollo.

Athena is framed for Phoenix’s murder and Apollo has to defend her. Phoenix isn’t actually dead. he faked his death and went to Europe. he’s free now.

the phantom kills Kristoph Gavin in prison. it turns out that the phantom was Bobby Fulbright was Jove Justice all along. Apollo grapples with this fact. some punches ensue.

DLC CASE: Apollo Has A Nice Day and plays Animal Crossing with Mekiko. Lamiroir drops by to play. no one mentions that she, Apollo, and Trucy are related.

So a while ago i had a dream where a new ace attorney game was announced, and some teaser pictures of phoenix were dropped (do they actually release individual teaser pics for characters in games? Idk man) What was important about that was that there was an wedding ring on his ring finger

And everyone went apeshit. Theories were everywhere, and everyone was arguing as to who phoenix had gotten married to. The main discourse was between the narumayo and wrightworth shippers, of course, because everyone assumed that if phoenix had married someone it’d be either edgeworth or maya

Eventually, capcom announced new teaser pics and everyone was hyped af

When they were released, chaos broke out. There were some pictures featuring miles and maya, but not in a single one of them were any of their hands and thus their ring fingers visible. So there was really no way to tell which ship had been made canon

Capcom was playing the players like a fiddle, and it worked. The preorders for the new game went up like crazy. There were more images released, but no one ever got to see edgeworth or maya’s hands

Then the day arrived and the new game was released. People jumped on it eagerly to find out once and for all which ship had won and become canon

And the reason that phoenix was wearing a ring turned out to be that he’d seen it in a store,

and wore it as an accessory with no deeper meaning

And that’s the story of the time i dreamt about the instant death of half the fandom at the hands of capcom’s ultimate marketing strategy
