“Of course, love.”
Killian could indeed keep such an act to himself - but not without a little retaliation. Once he follows her into the restaurant, an arm loops casually round the blonde’s waist to tug her lightly into his side. The host at the front of the eating establishment looks surprised to actually see them - understandable, considering their three prior cancellations just in the past month. But they’re a reliable bunch, and have a table ready for them on the off chance they actually showed up.
And if the hand at her waist edges down to give her ass a retaliatory squeeze while the host prepares to seat them, well, she can’t prove anything.
His request for wine is out of his mouth practically before he sits - after pulling out Emma’s seat for her, of course - and the host excuses himself with a nod of acknowledgment. Now seated and alone, Killian reaches halfway across the table to take her hand in his, thumb tracing light shapes into the back of it.
“You should have told me you wanted to skip straight to dessert; that definitely could have been arranged.”
“Absolutely not, Mr. Jones. Dinner must be enjoyed before dessert; the anticipation of what’s to come only makes the indulgence that much sweeter, wouldn’t you agree?” The atmosphere demands that Emma keep her voice pitched low, and she’s happy to comply, so that only her husband can hear the underlying promise laced within those playfully uttered words.
Emma knocks one heel-clad foot against Killian’s idly, as if it weren’t entirely intentional on her part. She hides her face behind a menu, feigning interest in the various options scrawled in neat, bold print, even as the toe of her shoe glides steadily up the length of her husband’s leg. He is, without a doubt, a terrible influence.
A low, thoughtful hum rumbles in the back of Emma’s throat. “The Alfredo here’s pretty good, right?” The blonde has to bite the inside of her cheek after speaking to stifle near giddy laughter. This is no place to be conducting herself like...Like some over-eager teenager! But Killian always, without fail, brings out the worst in her. Or so she’ll claim, at least.
