anyone else remember that fucking meme post from like ten years ago about how bread tags were colored depending on the date they were baked? one of those things that someone downloaded off reddit then posted to ifunny then to tumblr and back again. like the overplayed meme cycle of goddamn life where everything eventually comes back to where it started but its a shell of what it used to be with a stack of ten watermarks on the bottom and a hefty helping of jpeg artifacts on it

anyway did anyone ever fact check that shit? i know back in like 2009 nobody gave a shit about “sources” and “facts” and “actual humor” except like fifteen choice people who i probably followed on twitter back when the bird logo looked majorly fucked and people still posted statuses like “dave strider is going to bed” as if anyone actually really gave a shit

but the weirdest part is that we really did give a shit like we just fucking liveblogged every time we breathed or took a shit or got a goddamn papercut and that was content. memes on facebook have come so far like now we get some 3 year old post screenshotted off tumblr and reposted to “moms over 40 who like cats and fucking the milkman slowly while listening to george michael” and they all add surprised reacts and tag other moms that get drunk before 11 am in the post like its the pinnacle of goddamn humor
