I’m very excited to be posting these now that the TRC Big Bang week has begun!! I was paired with the awesome writer elliptical on AO3, and I think you'll fall in love with the fic just as much as I did! *Here’s the link to it* (where you can also find this art!) I read this AMAZING fic “i keep my hands” by leomundstinyhut on AO3 and I couldn’t get the idea to draw a specific scene from it out of my head. So, go check it out! It’s got tender slow dancing, intense drunken sailor dancing, and a whole lot of unresolved tension!

I was too young in 2010 to have anything really worthwhile, but I started posting on DeviantArt in 2014! The left one is one of my earliest drawings of a person, so I felt it would be a good comparison to the right. Looking back on it, I realize I had the right idea when it came to art, I just hadn’t practiced much.

So this year, personally, wasn’t that great, but my art improved so that’s cool! I really experimented with lineless paintings and found that I loved it. It was challenging but fresh, and it allowed me to experiment with and practice all kinds of things! 

Most of this year was also focused on bigger projects that took longer - which is kiiiiinda where I messed up, bc bigger projects take up so much of my time and focus. That November piece literally made me depressed.

A good handful of my posts also got circulated a lot, so I’m really grateful for everyone who reblogged or left a nice comment in the tags! I tried to read as many as I could <3

Next year, I want to focus on a couple things: 1. Working at a faster pace, so I don’t get bogged down on one piece for a long time, and 2. Keep experimenting with styles. I wanna try lined painting and see how that works out. I wanna draw from inspiring artists and also reach back to my roots to remember where I came from.

Idk how next year will be, and I won’t say I hope it’ll be better than this one, but I’m interested in the things to come.
