-sits down to watch fnaf movie expecting nothing because i know it’s gonna be cheesy and mostly made for fans who understand the references-

-what I was not expecting was my mom to ditch her movie and sneak to the empty seat next to me ( she hates the “murder robots” I draw so much) -

-she’s confused but digging the 80’s vibes because she’s an 80’s kid-

-I proceed to explain what’s happening and some of the lore but really the movie and the games are different and are confusing me more honestly idk what’s happening either-

-mom points at toy Freddy and laughs at him-

-mom says Michael Afton is creepy, points and laughs at him-

-mom gets mad about the animatronics having huge teeth and asks me why they’re like that-

-mom laughs at Michael afton part two-

-I have to keep looking away because I’m getting a bit embarrassed when the movie gets real cheesy but mom is absolutely invested-

-mom says she needs to use the restroom like 5 times and that she’ll be back but she never gets up from her seat because she keeps getting distracted by the robots-

-mom points at withered foxy and laughs, she asks me why they sound like Jurassic park dinosaurs-

-I don’t know… why DO they sound like Jurassic park dinosaurs?-

-movie ends-

-where’s Helpy? Why no Helpy? Sad sad pix-

-mom is now asking me to get matching fnaf shirts or a onesie because she liked the movie-

If Desmond’s ancestors somehow learned who Desmond is and the fact he’ll be going through their memories do you’d think they would talk to him?

Altaïr and Ezio are easy to explain, the Apple and Temple respectively. Edward could have something happen in the temple with the Sage. Ratonhnhaké:ton and Haytham are harder to explain but that’s not the point of this.

They know their descendant is living through their memories and having to go through the motions of almost every jump and punch. He feels their pain and sees the decisions they make.

So they get in the habit of talking to him, he can’t respond but they still do so. They apologize when they realize they’re about to do something dangerous or difficult. They flinch when they get unnecessarily hurt because while they’re fine with it, their descendant is now going to feel it.

They feel the need to justify their actions, it’s mostly Haytham (if he’s aware of Desmond being an Assassin). They don’t know if Desmond is judging them but it’s just in case.

They explain the simple tasks they’re doing, say their thoughts aloud for his sake. Talk about their family, his heritage.

Maybe they know Desmond is getting their skills, maybe they pick up some hobbies they wouldn’t have before because they think there’s a chance Desmond might benefit.

This entire fandom (myself included admittedly) needs to gain some media literacy because the whole mother-son thing with Occtis and Thaisha was very clearly a tongue-in-cheek inside joke between the two of them and while the bond is there, whittling them down to Mom Friend and Wittle Baby Boyman does such a disservice to both of their characters my god
