hey, you can call me toe! if you dont like that because it reminds you of feet, toh or finnius is fine. (finni is okay too, but finnius is slightly more preferred)

i write! 

i have issues with letting go so i almost never kill off characters. if i do its #emotional ok. 

i like the walking dead game so now my older brother thinks i like all zombie games, send prayers

but because i have trouble letting go, its a theme in both the stories im currently working on, one is a sequel to the other. and the sequel, coincidentally, is something like a zombie thing.... because i need to learn to let go aand know not everyone can live.

im hard of hearing (30%bilateral loss) so sometimes i forget certain quieter things have sounds until i put my hearing aids in and get a headache from existing

im autistic and coincidentally sensetive to sounds, so i often times dont wear them bc i do have 70% hearing so... generally pretty easy for me to get around without em. that doesnt mean i dont get excited as fuck seeing other people wearing them, though! (or other characters;)) )

i only get like halfway through most books

i have a cat, her name is yoyo, and she is currently cuddling with my leg and blinking.

oh i also have adhd, but i dont know as much about it as i do autism, which i know a looot about, and my only knowledge on being hoh is my own experiences and my asl class that taught a bunch of things cause the teacher’s husband was deaf and she wanted people to know more about the culture too which is good on her but even that was mostly about almost-fully deaf people.

i like exploring the dynamics of abusive types of relationships, both platonic and romantic and such, and this doesnt mean i support them, but it does mean that i find relationships like that interesting and exploring them helps me process my own experiences with them and hopefully point out to people in them that they are abusive relationships in the first place.

I also like exploring unhealthy relationships, where there isnt a power imbalance, but its not good for either character anyways.

but if you’re someone thats gonna get on my ass about that, go away. i dont mind if you bring to light that maybe my tone comes off wrong (autistic, that can happen a lot) in the piece, or if im doing something wrong with it or something like that, but if you think writing abusive relationships means the person writing supports them, then frankly you’re just not someone im gonna wanna interact with.

with that out of the way, i generally like fantasy, closer and maybe darker looks at fantasy, emotional and character driven plots, sci-fantasy, magic stuffs, ghosty stuffs, and found family. think adventure time and A:TLA as far as themes i enjoy and write. but i also like to mix genres a lot, so theres that, too. I like casual writing styles, whimsical writing styles, and academic writing styles, and the style i write in will depend on the piece, or, depending on if it works for the story, may even vary from scene to scene.

I also like doing that thing where you do like. third person pov but with the voice and opinions ofthe character you’re focusing on so look out for that tomfoolery

make chars w/ hearing aids

- yes youre allowed to if youre not hard of hearing! its allowed! its really not a huge part of any hoh persons life!  if youve made characters with glasses despite not having any yourself, its kind of the same thing for hearing aid wearing characters.

- dont be scared to if you are hoh. no one cares if its a self insert, and it doesbt make it projection if youre hoh and they also are.

- hearing aids really are comparable to glasses in a lot of ways. you dont think about or you just put em on and go about your day, often forget youre wearing them and get panicked thinking you lost them while theyre on your head. also people ask to try them on a lot, usually followed by a gasp and “everything is so looud, thats so cool!” if you say yes. this can be gross to some ppl bc wax but

-“deaf culture???” dont worry. i didnt know what deaf culture was til ninth grade, id been wearing hearing aids all my life until i was informed i was allowed to not wear them if i did better withiut them (by my asl teacher uwu). dont be afraid to take a dive to learn about deaf culture, but its not necessary to include it if you dont want to.

- i was under the impression it was so much more uncommon than it is growing up. it felt awkward. kinda special  but awkward and tabboo, despite that it was a similar experience to wearing glasses. the only two characters who had hearing aids who i can name in the mainstream are hawkeye from avengers and the kid in the newer spy kids (i was so excited when that came out by the way, and more excited that his hearing aids and the fact he wore them wasnt a huge part of the story. he just had them and utilized them occasionally)

- right now theres a BUNCH of kids i know both locally and in other places between 9-15 who have hearing aids. thats the target audience for a lot of shit man, this is good for you. make kids with hearing aids in your cliche adventure stories. those coming of age things that never get old. so many kids would be psyched, it wont be weird unless you make it weird

- in conclusion if youve thought about it and havent done it its bc ur a coward but i gently encourage you to stop being a coward.

- if you just havent considered it before, maybe start considering now. its way more common than anyone thinks.

- “deaf culture???” yep, even if you know little to nothing about deaf culture.most people with hearing aids (in my experience at least) know little to nothing about deaf culture, too

- theres so many pretty colors they could come in if your characters so choose my dude! cept the yellow looks a lil funky imo but

- its not much different than a glasses wearing character really. go wild! have fun.
