And cats aren’t allowed on the campus, only service animals. And somebody as snarky as the present company would hardly be a therapy cat.
He could tell, from the general appearance, that Morgana got a home. He looks well-fed, and his fur is clean and silky, and he could tell from his black fur that the cat is healthy in general. Yes, Yu doesn’t own a cat or any pets, but he can tell. Perhaps it could be safe to tell that at least one of his caretakers is a Persona user – they tend to gather for some reason.
Narukami hastily grabbed his bag and followed the cat, going down the blocks and followed the other into the alleyway. At least the feline wasn’t suspicious of him, at least not for now. The human too took caution, making sure that he wasn’t followed and there was nobody around as he turned into the alleyway. Just in case. After all, it has been a while that the young man figured out that Adachi’s timely appearances with a clue were no coincidence.
❝ Tell me.❞ Yu had enough time to think following the cat, and he was late at night reviewing his notes on the mental shutdown cases last night. ❝ Are you investigating the Mental Shutdowns too?❞
No beating around the brush or it would only be suspicious.
“Well, not investigating per say,” Morgana flicked his ears. “But I do know that this world is being taken advantage of for those evil purposes.”
This was true by his team’s foundings so far. As it was known killing the rulers of palaces would result in the real-world counterpart of that person to suffer from a mental shutdown. Since the Phantom Thieves were not killing the cognitions, a change of heart would occur instead.
But of course it was easy for the public to shift to blame onto them. They don’t know about the Metaverse and blaming the Thieves was just an easy solution for the press.
What was interesting was Yu didn’t seem interested in the Phantom Thieves, the ones taking up every billboard and news station in Japan. But rather the mental shutdowns that continue to occur daily in Tokyo. Kid was admirable.
However, Morgana still wasn’t completely sure that Yu couldn’t be the black-masked user. The boy looked dull as hell and seemed to be grasping at straws. But it could very well be an act.
“Who is doing this? Well unfortunately I don’t know but I feel like they have a particular reason for doing this.” He paused, taking a moment to think. Trying to internally review all what his team knew as of recent events. “Who else would be killing all these otherwise innocent civilians...” He quietly trailed off his line of thoughts.
