His cup of green tea has cooled to a gross lukewarm temperature that Junyeol can barely call tea at this point. It was always a pain to bring a drink when he studied as he never remembered to actually drink the damn thing. Yet, without some source of caffeine by his side, the boy always found himself waking up some hours later with his head resting on his philosophy textbook. Something he was well aware could easily lead to trouble that he definitely didn’t need to deal with.
Deciding to just leave the drink half full and continue on with his work, Junyeol flips to the next page. Honestly, philosophy was a major you had to hold genuine interest for in order to actually take and pass the course. Luckily, he was thoroughly interested in it which reflected in his high marks. But even Junyeol got tired and needed a break after two hours of nonstop studying. He could only do his schoolwork in his free time, which is something he barely received despite CATCH22 losing their rookie status. Thus, he had to get as much as he could done in the little time available. Something Junyeol could easily do with his intense focus, but definitely not something he’d volunteer for.
After a couple more minutes and him finishing the chapter that actually related to the topic of his paper, the boy realizes he forgot to grab another book. Silently, he pushes his seat back and stands, swiftly making his way to the other side of the floor where the psychology section was hidden. Yes, he knew that sitting nearby the section of actual value to him probably made a lot more sense. But the children’s section was only two shelves away, meaning it was hardly a quiet place to be even if it was a library. So Junyeol always found himself in the non-fiction section, where it was unsurprisingly silent.
Just as the boy finds the book of his choice and turns to return to his spot, he’s bumping into someone else. While Junyeol manages to hang on to his heavy textbook, he can’t say the same for the other person. Without even looking, he gives a quick bow and apology, bending over to pick their book up for them. His fingers wrap around the textbook just as the other’s go to pick it up, their hand covering the title. At that moment, Junyeol glances up, meeting eyes with someone he’s sure could become an idol with just their looks. “Sorry.” The boy immediately apologizes, gently sliding the book further into the other boy’s grip. “I seriously didn’t see you.” He continues in his French accented Korean.
It's one of the days where Taehyung has a bit more spare time, and how better to spend it than studying for his upcoming test? He's decided to spend it in the public library to revise a little, just to make sure he secures an A. He's been searching for information and jotting down notes for what seemed like hours, so engrossed in the book he barely notices when he turns to the last page.
Groaning softly in frustration, he tugs down the sleeves of his sweater as he finishes writing down the last sentence of his notes, and makes to get up from his lonely table. He walks through rows and rows to get to the Interior Design section. The information isn't suffice - at least, not enough to satisfy him, so he scours the bookshelves once again to find another book. His eyebrows are furrowed and he sticks his tongue out a little in concentration, looking through the titles before deciding to pick out one thick one.
Taehyung pretty much loves his major but it can get rather tedious at times, however it might be something he wants to pursue when his idol career ends. Now he's just focusing on Forest's upcoming debut. He holds the book to his chest, eyes still scanning the neatly-stacked books. He isn't looking where he's going until he collides into someone, and a startled gasp leaves his lips and his book leaves his grasp.
"I'm so sorry," he hurriedly apologises, bending down to pick up the book as the stranger does, too. The stranger gets to it first, and Taehyung's cheeks flush red as he accepts it from him. The man looks startlingly familiar, although Taehyung's brain doesn't connect the dots and he brushes it off. "I wasn't looking where I was going. You're okay, right? You're not hurt?" He asks in concern, worry taking over him although he knows the male is probably fine.
Being a naturally outgoing and curious person, Taehyung becomes friends with nearly everyone he meets, and he can't resist asking the man questions. He's noticed his accent - Taehyung's own being barely there anymore - and he thinks it might be nice to befriend someone who's from overseas too; they could relate. He's seen the book the male is holding, and curiosity takes over him. "If you don't mind me asking, are you from Korea?" he asks lightly, "You study philosophy? That's so cool!" It slips out before he can stop himself, but it is Taehyung after all, so he readjusts his grip on his book and waits expectantly for an answer.
